5-Kreider
6-Hagelin
7-Dubinsky (for now)
8-Anisimov
9-Boyle
10-Pyatt
11-Rupp
12-Asham

Who is Miller displacing? I guess it depends on when the season starts and when Gaborik comes back, but I still see the Rangers making a trade this summer.
If Miller impresses, he could slot into the 9th spot. Boyle moves down as does everyone else. Boyle on the 4th line would make this team that much better.

Remember, Hagelin wasn't supposed to be in the top 9 in the NHL this past season. He needed a whole year in the AHL. That didn't happen. He was on the top line in the playoffs. Miller is bigger and stronger. He's suited for a bottom 6 role at this point in time. He's not small like Zuccarello or Thomas. He'd work well on a 3rd line with Dubinsky and Anisimov.

I also honestly think Yogan at some point this season will be on the 4th line. Big body, skilled player. If he can impress in the AHL, which is where I believe he will start the year, he will displace the likes of Asham or even Rupp from the line-up full time.

Asham and Rupp as part timers means we have good depth up front. The possibility of a Pyatt-Boyle-Yogan line is realistic at some point next season.

I think Feds is much better than Boyle along the boards considering the size difference. And Feds was the best player on that line two years ago, and the biggest reason Boyle and Prust had increased numbers. His work and smarts generated a ton of chances for them, both.

The only thing Boyle has over Fedotenko is speed and size, which he doesn't even utilize properly. I guess Boyle probably blocks more shots, too, though Feds never shied away from that, either.

Yea last year... he's potted 50 goals multiple times...40 goals.

I like the gamble vs the long term contract.

I'll miss Feds.

But I'm glad he proved those Pens fans wrong who said he was a bad signing by the Rangers.

Haley is AHL bound. He was barely good enough to be on the Islanders. He won't be on the 4th line for the Rangers. He's not Prust 2.0. I seriously doubt he can do the same things that Prust did.

Torts has a liking to younger players. Miller will be on the team if he earns it. He prefers the younger guys than the older vets unless he knows what they can bring him. It's one of his good traits as a coach. Believing in youth.

Ugh. These softball questions they throw up for Cerny during these chats are embarrassing.

If Miller gets sent back to juniors, we won't see him on the Rangers until 2013 at the earliest.

No, he isn't. Boyle gets sneezed on the boards, he falls over. Boyle is not a great forechecker, I don't know where some of you guys are getting that.

Why would he go back to Juniors? He's in the AHL no matter what.

He's eligible for the AHL this year as well.

I don't think it's been said either way whether he's going back to Juniors or to the AHL. The Rangers might wait to see how he does in camp before making that decision

I would be hesitant to trade for Ryan. He would probably just bolt to Philly in 3 years once his contract is up anyway. Not worth the risk.

I think Miller makes the team because if he doesnt i think he goes back to juniors over the AHL. I think the rangers dont want that because i think that they think he is close. And once they got him hooked they could always send him down if he struggles.

I'm going to say he makes the team on the 3rd line.

They may not have that luxury if there is a lockout.

I mean Boyle has two quality characteristics:

1)Good defensively 5v5, although not really elite

2)Excellent Pker, shot blocker.

He is alright as faceoff guy, but nothing special.

Everything else he is largely mediocre or terrible.

Pretty fair point. He really seems to like Philly, a bit too much for my liking.

Stepan made it out of camp for the 10'-11' season as a second rounder with no professional experience. I wouldn't say it's out of the question that Miller could make the team next year.

He signed his ELC last year after deciding to go to the OHL instead of North Dakota.
