With the Wings missing out on Suter and one of the all time greats retiring, would you guys be interested in Bouwmeester?

Often misused in Calgary, I think JBo would be a great fit in Detroit. Up-tempo style of play while positionally sound defensively.

Don't really have a proposal in mind, just want to ask the true fans about what they would give up for him

Happy 4th of July!

I would give up Kindl, Tomas Tatar and a 2nd rounder.

I would give up nothing, and tell feaster hes stuck with his albatross.

Would rather have Carle as a stopgap on a 1/2 year deal

As bleak as the situation looks after today, I wouldn't be interested in Bouwmeester. It depends on the offer though of course, how about some Samuelsson to go with your Hudler?

If J-Bo only had one year left on his deal then maybe, maybe I would think about swallowing that cap hit. In my mind J-Bo is way too overpaid. I'd honestly rather see the Wings go with a very minimal, no big name defense and see what sticks next summer than take on J-Bo.

The more I think about it. I'd rather just stick with who've we got instead of getting locked into a deal when next year there are 3 or 4 really good defensemen on the market.

I agree 100%. If a reasonable trade can be made then great but I'd rather wait for the right piece

Jay only has 2 years left, I believe and is significantly better than Carle.

I like that. Would be nice for the Flames to get Brett Hull back, too.

Sooo. I keep seeing this name pop up.

I would rather stick with what we have and maybe miss the playoffs than add players like Bouwmeester or Doan. Wings need a difference maker and for as much as he is paid Bouwmeester is not that. Doan is nothing but a stop gap plug that would be great for a contender to get over hump but does nothing for us except help us back into the playoffs and lose in the first round. If those are the options, screw it miss the playoffs and draft high.

Boumeester is heavily under-rated. He's been stuck on a bad team playing an awful system. Ill sig bet anyone that Boumeester as a Wing will outperform Suter offensivley this year - and he's only 29, skates like a gazelle, and holds the active NHL ironman streak. 6.8 for 2 years isn't crazy if the asking price isn't.

Correct. Getting JBo would be a great addition at this point.

The guy hasnt even played a playoff game before (including junior) but honestly he could be a pretty good option. I would not consider overpaying for him though.

Having Kronwall and J BO as a top 2 on your team is definitely not terrible

You shouldn't.

Better to just move a 3rd or whatever Chicago would be looking to move Montador for.

Bouwmeester isn't worth the cartload you'd be sending.

Quincey+2nd+10-20 range prospect is what I would offer, maybe a conditional pick if he hits certain point totals/we get to the finals?

It is July 4th and we are sitting on $20 + million of cap space. Why on earth would we be worried about his current contract. Contrary to popular belief around here, you can't dress cap space.

I think it all depends on what you give up. It would be bold, but it may be one of the better options on the table. Jaybo is a strange case. He went from back to back 15 goal years to not even scoring 15 goals combined in three years. He is underated but 6.8 is 6.8. The way Calgary throws around money though, they may not even think this is a bad contract yet.

Count me in on this group. I can see this deal getting done much easier than one for Yandle, though I'd prefer the latter.

Not for our scrap offers. Despite how terrible I think he is, he still logs a ton of minutes. Calgary, yet again, is trying to make the playoffs so they aren't going to take Quincey and our garbage prospects for him.

JBo is weak, weak, weak. If you think Sammy is a coward, you'd have a new favorite guy to rip on with JBo.

I would rather wait 2 years for JBO and get him at the deadline when Calgary is yet again sitting on the edge of the playoffs assuming that they want a King's ransom for him.

I never want JBo. He's not the answer here. I'd rather have Quincey than JBo. I'd rather have Ericsson play top minutes. At least those guys play like they give a ****.
