No he never brought us a cup and I agree he's not an elite player...but unless we pick in the top 5 in the near future it's going to be a long time before we find a homegrown player of his character, work ethic, and skill.
I appreciate his contributions as a Devil. However, I would be lying if I said I wouldn't take pleasure in watching him fail utterly and miserably from now on. I also don't buy a word he has said in the last month at all. It's clear he's been in cahoots on this with Suter for awhile.
And don't buy this nonsense from all these Wild fans about how they will appreciate the fact that Parise is on their team no matter what. Minnesota is a rabid hockey market. They are patient and loyal, but they will get on Parise if he doesn't produce enough and/or fails to live up to their expectations (not his own mind you) and or the team struggles (which still is very possible), especially now that he's being paid like an all-world superstar (even though he's not).
Sorry, I had to jump back in because it's hard not to read all the reply's...
Here's the thing, you are probably 100% correct, in about 6 years we'll be somewhat regretful, however, again, I can't stress this enough. We were and always have been an irrelevant franchise but in a great hockey market. We fans put up with a lot and are very patient but something had to happen to jump start this team's notoriety...
The ONLY reason we were able to get Parise is because he happened to be born in the state, there was a connection there with that & his dad. There was no way in hell he would have even looked twice at us if he was from Michigan or anywhere else in the world. We basically had to do this to get a big name here. I hate to use this cliche but the stars aligned for us just this once because historically we couldn't get a top FA to save our lives..
Minnesota needed this to start making a name for themselves & to show a very frustrated fan base that they could attract a big player and we had to do what we had to do... We may never win a cup, we may be bitter in a few years with his contract but the fact remains that this got us headlines, it looks like its going to get us a winter classic in 2014 or 15 and it showed the fans that the owners will do what they need to to bring in a big name and no, he's not the leagues best player, but he's still a big name and so if this gives our franchise anymore notoriety going forward & gets us a chance to sign other big FA's in the future is contract & length will have been well worth it to at least put our team on the map for the first time. Thats the only reason Wild fans will accept it.
Zach will get a free pass because this gave us an identity for the first time ever & because he's a local... It just happened to be the perfect storm for us this year. Im just sorry it came at your guys' expense...

No need to apologize, the ****er didn't want to be here.
Maybe he can finally show up in the playoffs, if not, you gotta hope a rookie and some 4th liners can pull through for you.
The thing that is most upsetting is what you said, about how the player goes on about how much he loves playing for the organization and the area only to turn right around and leave. And this hurts more since Zach was drafted, developed, and brought into the NHL through the Devils. The recent news that he had been in talks with Suter since well before this process just makes it sting more because it now looks like he had known for a while that he wanted to go elsewhere, while still maintaining the outward appearance of wanting to stay in New Jersey.
So once it kind of cools down and we can reflect, yea Minnesota is better than if he had gone to Pitt or Philly, but this one's gonna sting for a while because of how he basically led the entire Devils fanbase on about staying a Devil.
Fair enough & excelent point. I can fully understand & agree with this..
btw, thanks for being so coridal with me guys, I would fully understand if you told me to get the **** out of here right now.. I appreciate that you guys are being friendly
As soon as I can I will be purchasing seats against the glass, behind the visitors box, for 11/11.
Zach and Dany can look forward to comments such as "I'm going to ejac**** on Alisha's face", "how does it feel to be playing with a murdering pos" and "way to end up a bigger scu**ag than you father".
If anything there should be an appreciation thread for Salvador, for staying loyal. Although there wasn't as much attention on his impending free agency I thought bringing him back was just as important if not more so than getting Zach back.

what production are you expecting out of Parise next season?

No. Just no.
Im not happy with Mr Parise but dont belittle how important he was to our team. Way more important than Salvo
what production are you expecting out of Parise next season?
I cant speak for everyone but considering we're the lowest scoring team in hockey. I think we'd all be happy with somewhere around 20g/25a.. anything else would be bonus
We're trying to teach all our young guys that its about being hard workers & dedicated night in & night out & even if you disagree now, Parise is a good role model.. We dont need to be the highest scoring team but we need to be hard workers playing as team game & a team thats dedicated to eachother. Zach is a character guy & a hometown hero. We dont expect the world. We just want & need a team that shows they care night in & night out

I sure hope so ...
And unless you were in coma last couple of months, name Adam (and again Adam) should not remind you of Eve :

I could care less about Minnesota and I know they have loyal fans like yourself.
But seriously, **** the merc.
Kovy made it clear he wanted out, Richards told Dallas he wouldn't be back, Rolstons rights were traded, Gomez signed on July 1st.
What Zach did will hurt me for a long, long time.
Seeing articles all ready about how he was texting his buddy all season about this possibility makes me feel sick.
Why did he accept the Captaincy, was it to boost his pay check?
Why did he string his loyal and adoring fans along all season, why didn't he make it clear to us?
I can't even comprehend how Lou feels about this, giving his fierce loyalty to his players.
I've all ready dumped my Parise tee. Yuck, what a weasel.

I get all the hate especially right now...I guess I hoped people would understand that he likely did this for family...whatever...I'll bump this before 11/11...I really don't want us to sink to the level of Flyers fans and have our whole stadium boo this guy when he returns.

I believe that is where Adam Henrique and Adam Larsson Come in
