I was for trading Hamels, among others on the team, and doing a partial rebuild/contend approach like Homer does. Of course you don't like the way he operates either, so I'm sure that'll mean nothing to you. Philly fans typically have man-crushes on players the DO win. Shockingly there's a correlation there that you hadn't uncovered!

Instead of using the line "why so serious" from the 2008 epic movie The Dark Knight, the line "why so clueless" best describes the above statement.

Toughfighter83....you are either the most pessimistic fan of all time, or a very obvious troll. Haven't decided yet, but every time you post, you'd think you were following the Lions, Pirates, Maple Leafs ad whoever sucks in basketball.

Yeah, it's not like the Phillies have won anything important recently.

i am pessimistic because flyers hasnt won a championship in 37 years, sixers hasnt won in 30 years, eagles in 52 years, phillies are going back to 90s team and none of these teams right now have put a championship team roster as of right now, is that fair or is this fanbase delusional?

so how am i supposed to be excited or optimistic about this teams?

Well, at least you spelled "delusional" and "optimistic" correctly.

You know what really pisses me off about the Phillies? They don't have any starting pitchers who throw even 94/95 MPH (hell, the relievers can barely throw that hard). It's all about precision and control. Problem is, with guys like Halladay, Lee, and Hamels, when the control isn't there, it seems like their stuff isn't nasty enough to consistently miss bats. I'm telling you guys, the Halladay and Lee contracts are going to look even worse next year. I'll forever be grateful for what Cole did in 2008, but the Phillies would've been better off dealing him for a king's ransom to rebuild the farm/get young impact players.

I don't agree with those who say the only major problem this season has been the bullpen. A lack of situational hitting has also been a plague, as well as general buffoonery in the field and on the bases. The bullpen disaster just provides a convenient, all-encompassing excuse that breeds ignorance of the other deficiencies.

I still say he looks goofy before he comes set as he looks in for the sign with him being bent over and his arm out like that. Looks like he's dipping his arm into an imaginary ice bath a foot off the ground.

What do we think the realistic price for Victorino and Pence would be? What's Amaro asking for? Also I don't think Jimmy gets traded.

Price is apparently high on Pence and Shane if they're moved.

Pittsburgh and San Fran are supposedly interested in Pence, Pittsburgh and Cincy are interested in Victorino, and the Dodgers had 2 scouts at last night's game(Blanton)? For Pence, two names I've heard are Starling Marte from the Pirates and Gary Brown from the Giants. Both are corner outfielders.

Pence is also out of the lineup today. On this day, Amaro has made his big move the past 3 years(Pence, Oswalt, Lee), so I think Pence gets traded today.

i dont care what people say they should have kept ibunez for another year and oswalt, i know he's injured but it could have been different here and upgrading at shortstop and 3rd basemen would have been a major plus instead keeping jimmy and mister choke polly at 3rd.

there's no excuse for this at all, chase and howard were injuried but other teams loose good players and still overcome them, that's what good teams do with good managing and coaching, it tells me the phillies dont have any of that.

i hope senberg whatever his name is from the reading phillies comes here and manages this team, brings a new hitting/pitching coach and this team will be good again, he made domonic brown good, maybe senberg can make this young players great on the phillies, accept for hamels which im worried about because he doesnt seem to care about winning, he'll probably be the 5 spot next year, if he doesnt get his attitude together.

They are actually both Center fielders. Marte is a great outfielder. Gary Brown can fly.

Advanced metrics deemed Raul Ibanez the worst defensive outfielder in the league last year.

Looks like some radio station is reporting that the Giants have a "deal in place" for Hunter Pence if ownership approves.

^I saw this like 15 minutes ago, dont know how legit it is. They have a top 50 BA prospect at CF along with some really good arms in lower levels.
