I think this was the 3rd game I've seen Kratz play, I like him so far. Unless I've missed some stinkers.

He's been hitting the cover off the ball when I've seen him play. I like him a lot and hopefully he can be Chooch's backup next season.

I've watched every game with Kratz, like him a lot. He has been blasting the ball and seems comfortable. Also calls a great game, rarely gets waived off and he's made some great defensive stops.

What boggles my mind is Fontenot. He plays 3rd better than Wiggy and hits better than Wiggy. He's one of like 3 plays who draws out an AB. Amaro was asked about why they sent him down and he said "he wasn't playing well." Was quite the head scratcher to me.

Nah, probably not. And he actually looks comfortable in the field and at the plate, not a total Spaz like Pence.

Damn. I'm gonna miss watching a guy go down swinging at questionable pitches.

Don't worry, our cleanup hitter is still here to do that.

JeffPassan: Source: Phillies have placed Cliff Lee on waivers. Executives expect him to clear Friday afternoon, be eligible for trade.

Cliff Lee has been treated very poorly here. "Hey Cliff, we know we traded you, sign here for less money because we love you."

Lee passing through waivers, nothing to see here. Happens every year.

It's not a huge deal, it's just magnified by the trade deadline and Lee's name being thrown around (and then denied of being thrown around). Carl Crawford and Carlos Lee are also on waivers today. Supposedly many BIG name players go thru waivers on an annual basis.

No way Cliff gets claimed, nor will he be traded unless Amaro is offered excellent value in return. Placing him on waivers is merely a procedural move just so there can be the possibility of trading him in August.

Michael ****ing Martinez is starting tonight in CF because he has a .160 average against lefties.

His defense is a HUGE improvement over most other players we have. That's the only reason that makes sense to me, otherwise I was appalled he was recalled at the expense of Fontenot.

If Martinez needs to play in the infield a day or two a week, whatever. But why put him in CF? His arm might be worse than Pierre's.

Not in CF though. he should not be playing the OF at all.

Neither one of those balls were scored errors.
