i mean what is it about this team to be excited about besides being out of playoff contention?

unless serious changes are going to be made next season, it's going to be the same stuff like this season, choke, choke, choke,

i dont care about how many meanless games they win, they are giving the choke of a coaching staff and manager the keys again and choke next year, it's ridiculous.

If I was your doctor I would suggest some Duloxetine... or other SNRI.

That Cole Hamels guy doesn't care about winning.

Sucks that Schierholtz is out for the next few weeks, they need to see if he can play full time. From what Ive seen from him in the limited PA against lefties, Im encouraged.

Cole was dominant again tonight, he has been great in August.

What's the consensus on Brown, I see he's hitting 279 but doesn't look like he's hitting in runs. How's he been in the field?

I think he's been fine in the field and even though he's batting .279, I like what I've seen.

I also like what I've seen from him overall. Doing a good job at the plate in terms of taking pitches and working counts (and god knows this team needs to do more of that), and his defense hasn't been a disaster. I'd like to see a bit more power from him, i.e. HRs, but they'll come if he keeps making decent contact.

It seems like he's been a bit more relaxed and consistent so far in his short stint up here with no real pressure on him, unlike last year when they saddled him to start RF and yo-yo'd him around.

Love Dom's plate discipline and the fielding has been a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, he's showing little to no power, as evidenced by his unsightly .349 SLG. For reference, Juan Pierre has a .380 SLG. Dom won't amount to anything more than a reserve outfielder, at best, if he doesn't start making better contact and driving the ball. Where's the jaw-dropping power he showed at times during those short stints with the Phillies in 2010 and 2011? It's been dormant for over a year now, and Brown wasn't even smoking the ball in AAA. Legitimate cause for concern.

If he would just stay upright in his stance I think he would start to drive the ball. As he is now he leans out over the plate too much and that really saps his power. Victorino is another guy that would do this from the left side and he had trouble hitting for power at times.

At least this team is showing some spunk. Makes me much more optimistic for next year.

Also...10 games out. Not impossible, just saying.

Definitely not impossible. It's just going to require a more consistent offense. Which we haven't seen all season. I got faith that they can turn it around and make a run.

I know they're not mathematically eliminated, so I still have some glimmer of hope. But their recent play makes me very optimistic for next season.

BJ Rosenberg isn't a very effective pitcher.

Felix "The King" Hernandez is through 8 innings of a perfect game. If ya have it tune into the MLB network, they will go to the game when he is back up to pitch.
