Kostitsyn Files for Arbitration

Full list here. Perron has already signed at 4 years, $3.8M per annum. That sets the market for Kostitsyn between $2.5M and $3M, which is about where most of us probably figured he would be. Hopefully we can get a deal done beforehand.

Not an entirely unexpected move. At least Weber didn't go that route.

I bet he gets 3-4, either at arbitration or before.

Can someone explain to me the arbitration process? Who does the arbitration? How do they decided a final number?

Both parties go to a judge, essentially. They both bring up comparable players they think should be benchmarks for the salary, and the judge decides his pay. The team can then either sign him to that dollar figure for one or two years, or walk away from it, making the player a UFA

SK will probably get at least 3 million/yr. He at least wants to stay and wants a multi year deal. I think the preds will go for 3 yrs as while he's disappeared at times he's got skill that we need.

I think a $3m/4yr deal gets signed before arbitration begins.

Maybe he'll disappear during arbitration like he does in the playoffs.
