None of them ever seem to get the job done.

The part that bothers me is the second year. Bet we end up buying him out.

Just wild speculation on my part but I think Boulton wanted a larger role and was annoyed at being scratched towards the end and the whole playoffs. Cam on the other hand knows his role and embraces it and totally gets why he is not dressed in the post season. I think Lou was giving Boulton a chance to go see if he could get more ice time somewhere else and hoping Barch gets his role. Lou seems to like to have 2 goons around for as Jim puts it, insurance. The key is getting two who accept that role.

Not all that easy to find a heavy weight that can skate, hit, provide some energy

My guy reaction to this signing was disappointment, but you're right. And as Gross's most recent post on fire and ice says, some of our fourth line guys could be playing on the third line at times this season. And when that happens, whether it's due to injury or necessity, I'm glad we'll have a heavy-hitting option that isn't Janssen.

This is the best thing since San Diego's fireworks last night.

This is the only thing that makes sense about buying out Boulton and bringing in Barch

And yesterday people were complaining/hoping for a 'random signing, any signing, so we can move on.' i guarantee you we will like him fighting in a few months.

Also, is there anyone barch know on our team from the past that we could teach how to fight? I mean obviously not larsson, but we all know larsson knowing how to fight would be cool. But I takin about maybe someone else who could benefit?

Alo, could be that boulton was taking too many damn penalties per game. Janssen knows how to hold back statistically. Maybe our upstairs sees smarter penalties being taken by barch vs boulton.

Where will Barch even play! We signed our entire legendary 4th line Bernier-Gionta-Carter...

When will Barch or Janssen see the ice besides in the A

I love the Atlantic Division! So much toughness and entertainment!

For the record, Lou told Barch that one or more of last year's fourth line could move up to the third this year, which opens up a 12th forward role.

To the east side.

I don't know how effective he'd be in the 3rd line...

Maybe Carter and Bernier can teach Barch how to score and be an effective 4th liner?

He was effective there with Zubrus and Ponikarovsky. DeBoer will have to see if he's made any improvement over the summer when he shows up to camp.
