I caved

Keeps talking about how the love birds kept in touch all season, stopped doing so during the cup for a bit but as it got closer to 7/1 they kept talking about which teams which would be a good fit considering not many can do it and fit under the cap

Clearly he did not learn a thing from being around Lou for 9 years about keeping your mouth shut.......like father like son I guess

Ugh that was tough to listen to. I'd like to think that I've moved on, but I miss him. A lot.

I'll have to assume this doesn't mean a lot to you guys after this supposed lip service he's been serving us for a year, but he seemed pretty genuinely appreciative of his time in New Jersey and what the organization has done for him.

I bet signing the $98 million dollar contract was very stressful.

I honestly believe there is a lot more that we'll never hear about from the NJ side.

Yanno, if that's the choice you want to make, of course.
Just a quick little repost.

He'd be a decent option. Good replacement for Poni, who also started off with the Leafs.

I wish we were hearing more rumors out of the Semin camp. I wanna hear that NJD is close to a deal. This has not really been a free agent frenzy.

Well I know for a fact that Lou doesn't teach you how to bail without getting the job done the right way.

Probably got that from his dad.

I hope the team can use it as motivation for next year

To me, I still can't get over the fact that he was sporting the C for this team and daydreaming of skipping off into the sunset with his BFFL. All season long.

While DeBoer, Lou, Kovy, and everyone else put him up on a pedestal as a leader.

Nice to know that that's how he repaid the organization he is so grateful to.

Lou also teaches you to keep your mouth shut

Why he's spouting out that he and his love bird were talking all season long and taking long walks on the beach is beyond me and only making him more enemies

I think the relationship was over before he even got the "C"....

This might be good news if you want Semin, considering how lockdown real info was during the Kovy thing, compared to a different frigging story every five minutes during the Zach thing.

I think generally.

I think maybe one more minor signing or a trade because having 8 NHL quality D-men on the roster, but not one great one is weird.

That is what irks me the most is that he was a captain of a team and yet talked all season long about what other teams could afford his bff and himself. That I see as no true leader but a selfish one that has already decided to leave all the while he is wearing a "C" on his jersey
