Michael Ryder to Washington

It seems, with the signings of Jagr and Whitney, that Dallas has an over-abundance of top-6 wingers.

What would it cost the Caps to reunite Ryder with Ribeiro?

Dallas doesn't have an abundance of top 6 wingers.

They only have Eriksson, Ryder, Jagr, Morrow, and Whitney. That's 5. Morrow isn't as good as he used to be so he'd be put on the third line.

Ryder was their leading goal scorer last year and it would take a lot to get him.

There's 4 top-6 winger spots.

To call Morrow a top 6 winger after how he played last season is a stretch.

Eriksson - Benn - Jagr
Whitney - Roy - Ryder

Morrow is not a top 6 forward. And if he does make a resurgence, he'll be the one traded at the deadline, not Ryder.

Probably a 1st at the deadline if Dallas is out of it.

Eriksson-Benn-Jagr
Whitney-Roy-Ryder

Ryder is in our top six. Morrow is not a top six winger (even if he goes through a resurgence). Ryder's not being traded until the deadline (if we're out of the playoffs). However, I doubt he gets traded this year because Dallas will most likely be battling for a playoff spot in February. The same position they've found themselves in for the last 3 seasons.

OK, then what would Morrow cost right now?

Likely not available because he won't waive his NTC in good faith due to his injury concerns.

I'd flip him for about anything, but Stars management probably doesn't agree. Look like they're going to give him a season to try to bounce back.
