Pens Developmental Camp Roster (Camp July 10-14)

It was released today.

http://penguins.nhl.com/club/news.ht...wt-pghpenguins

I'm intrigued by this Andrej Sustr guy they invited. 6'8" 218lb right-handed Czech defenseman. 21 years old playing for the University of Nebraska-Omaha.

I really feel we are full on defensemen in the pipeline as of now so cant be too exited for an FA invitee. And the only one of the rest that seem to have some potential is the Opperman kid. PUt up bette rnumbers than Blueger (yeah i know, points arent everything).

On another note im REALLY exited to see all the new prospects. The one we drafted and the one we traded for. Roupp doesnt seem like much at the first glance on stats and stuff. But he was a 3rd rounder after all and Shero said they were thinking of him insted of Harrington as early as the 2nd round.

Anyone going? Will they fight?

I'm only asking about fighting, so I can see what Payerl can do. I really want to see Morrow in person.

Will be interesting to see if they release updated height & weight stats on each of those players. It seems Harrington, Morrow & Despres each "lost" an inch, and we know Bennett has added weight. Hopefully they'll release that info.

Anyway, I think we should also be THRILLED that the vast majority of all of our college prospects (save Hanowski) and all of our European prospects (Sundqvist ) will be attending camp. It is huge having guys like Wilson, Agostino, Archibald, D'Agostino, Velischeck & others there.

Especially considering this is at a time when we're at a crossroads with our franschise and deciding if we should pursue any big name UFAs (Semin, Doan) or trades (Nash, JBo, Martin, etc.), it is great to see all of our young kids and how they stack up with one another.

Sustr's definitely intriguing with his size. Laganiere's got good size to but needs to put on weight. O'Brien's still very young so it'll be interesting to see how he does next year, he's already solidly built. Megna put up some decent numbers in his first season even if he is 22, his brother was drafted by Anaheim and is 6'6 but I imagine Jayson isn't going to get any taller.

I could see Payerl and Ruopp going in camp actually. I'd like to see what they both can do.

I think Ruopp and Seymour do a fair amount of fighting and Morrow and Uher had this epic battle in the WHL.

I think it's pretty safe to say our prospects won't be fighting each other at camp.

Why? Guys want to show they have what it takes. Payerl vs Ruopp is the best bet for one.

The Prospect camp is about learning so I don't see any reason to fight especially given the risks involved. I don't think Payerl would fair very well in that fight.

At what point do players stop getting invited? Is it based on age, experience, or the teams viewpoint on them? ( No Vellieux, Strait, Bortuzzo, Peterson, Sneep, Grant?)
