I haven't seen anything either... He must not be that impressive in this camp. At least not more so than some of the other people out there.

In fact I think that I read that both of our 1st rounders have had a hard time in the 1 on 1 drills.

I haven't heard much about Maatta either. Very young defensemen have a harder time really standing out I think; especially with the other guys we have in front of them. There was a picture of I think Dumoulin and Pouliot lifting next to eachother and it looks like a grown linebacker standing next to a 15 year old

bad news guys - Dumoulin wants to be a chef.

The Warriors drafted big man Patrick O'Bryant 9th overall and he ended up busting - in part because his heart was never in basketball, his real passion was cooking. this is a major red flag. i'm putting the Brian "the daniamal" Dumoulin on bust watch.

Teddy Blueger toe-drags defenseman in Datsyuk fashion then sauces a pass over other defenseman to his teammate for goal. Ridiculous play.

@IanAltenbaugh
Blueger is really impressive. Really under the radar pick. Has good size at 18 already.

Making a good first impression from the sounds of it.
Wow looks like he leaving a good impression funny that in Latvia hes beeing underrated due to Girgensons beeing a first round pick.

it's getting so that you can't even post without an emoticon

i like everything i've seen of him so far. he sounds like he has a great personality and a lot of heart/desire. the chef thing is a huge Warriors inside joke. in many ways the dubs are alot like the buccos - lots of dumb decisions but plenty of bad luck as well (stuff you can't even script) hence cooking is a huge red flag.

Sustr plays at Nebraska-Omaha in the WCHA division along with Pens prospect Josh Archibald and fellow camp invitee Jayson Megna.

From what I understand he's on a lot of teams' radars. Could be looking at an NHL deal whenever he decides to leave school.

I'm gonna be that guy and immediately ask you another question

did you notice how Bennett's skating looked? I honestly don't know how to judge it, but I have heard a lot of people say that's something he needs to work on.

I'll go ahead and add some more questions for you netwolf-

How are the newly drafted guys looking? We are getting some info on Pouliot, Macaroni and Blueger, but what about the other guys?

Thanks for the writeup! One thing I found interesting out of it was this...

Quote:
One small bit of news: the recently re-signed Keven Veilleux is in town, working out at Consol Energy Center. I noticed a locker was set-up with a nameplate for him yesterday, and upon arriving early to the rink this morning, caught the tail end of a light workout with a couple of staff members. He wasn't in full equipment; just a track suit. Hopefully, he can put his injuries behind him. You don't often find guys with hands that can stickhandle and fight, especially with a bit of a mean streak AND in a 6'5" frame.
I wonder if he's fully healthy yet. What was it that happened to him this past season again?

Granted, he's not up against NHL regulars and I'm no skating expert myself, but I think he gets around the rink just fine. I mean, you won't confuse him with Marcantuoni, but I wouldn't call it a liability for him either. Most guys can always look to improve in that area a little at least.

When I watch these, I don't usually focus in on anyone intentionally; I look for plays to jump out, and keep track of who made them. Pouliot, Maatta, Sundqvist, Seymour and Zlobin just haven't done that, not that it's a big deal. It's a short, summer camp. Not everyone impresses right off the bat like Morrow did last year.
