Shadows of Montana? More like Steve Bono or Elvis Grbac or Steve DeBerg Amazing how many QBs have gone from SF to KC. And to think KC is essentially giving up more for Smith then they did for Montana!

Montana/David Whitmore who was a back-up safety/special teams guy and a 3rd round pick went to KC for the Chiefs 1st round pick #18 (Dana Stubblefield chosen and was a quality player)

Smith to KC for a 2nd round pick this year (#34) and conditional pick (thought to be as high as a #2) next year

Granted Smith will be 29 and Montana was 36.

Arizona with their worst loss of the season. 5 seed range after that. Wow.

But then ASU couldn't capitalize down the road at UCLA. Would've been big in the conference standings and for their at-large chances.

ASU unveils a new, less evil Sparky. I am disappoint.

The old one looked really crappy. The new one is a little less crappy, but a little more creepy. Who cares? It's a mascot.

USA knocks Canada out of the WBC. Went on Friday. Pretty cool to see Chase full. ..even if I felt like it was a Dodgers game.

The best moment of the WBC was the brawl between Canada and Mexico.

ASU's makeover of mascot Sparky spawns a backlash

Quote:
Student leaders feel blindsided. More importantly, they don’t like the look of the new Sparky.

“It looks creepy,” said ASU senior Austin Lincoln, a business major and student senator who wrote the student-government resolution.

Fitzpatrick, an AZ native, released by the Bills. Could be had for cheap by the Cardinals if they cut Kolb. 3,400 yards and 24 TDs last year.

But tons of INTs as well. Was outstanding through the first five or six games of 2011, then got his big payday and hasn't been the same since.

I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on him though.

Adrian Wilson >>>>> The Arizona Cardinals.

I hope he signs with St. Louis or Seattle and breaks the ribs of whatever crappy QB our pathetic line is failing to protect in a disaster of a season, next year.

They cut Kerry Rhodes too. A guy actually producing, on one of the better defenses last year.

Goodbye, Tin Man. You will not be missed

The regrettable Kevin Kolb era in Arizona is ending soon.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported the Cardinals expect to cut Kolb soon, according to two sources briefed on the situation.

"He won't be on the roster by this weekend," one source told Rapoport.

The timing of the news makes sense. Kolb is due a $2 million roster bonus on March 17 and he's due $9 million in base salary in 2013. The Cardinals made it clear that Kolb would have to take a significant pay cut to remain with the team. It sounds like that's not going to happen.

Kolb is gone.
http://www.azcentral.com/sports/card...-decision.html

About damn time but his move don't mean **** if we don't get an upgrade at QB. Also, there is still that damn O-Line issue as well.

Even most of the elite QB's in the league would have gotten killed behind that truly offensive line.

Vollmer, Long and Andre Smith still aren't signed. All are an upgrade for that putrid line. They are going to be screwed if, at the draft, Fisher and Joeckel come off the board early and they have to take Geno Smith.

Reminiscent of the great John McKay during the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 0-26 run to start their history: "Coach McKay, what do you think about the execution of your offense?" "I'm in favor of it"

He is a free agent for a reason. DRC too, though he signed. I begrudglingly had to respect his talent when he played for U of A. Seems like it never really translated to the NFL.

Also, Cardinals signed Matt Shaughnessy from the Raiders to a 1 year deal.
