Pretty damn good if you ask me
Gives Seguin time to develop at center on the 2nd line instead of the first and next year he becomes the 1st line center with lucic and ryan on the wings!!!
Considering that Kelly and Peverley recently signed multi-year contracts this might not be that surprising....except for the fact that the Bruins really like Krejci.
This is slight threadjack, but I hate Lucic and Horton on the same line. They both should play similar big bodied type of games and operate around the net and neither can keep up with Seguin. I would rather Marchand stay with Seguin and drop Looch with Bergeron and Ryan
Seguin played with Lucic for a spell and Lucic kept up with him just fine. I don't have the numbers in front of me but I remember a play where both streaked up the ice for a goal and Brickley and Edwards commenting on how Lucic was able to match Seguin stride for stride as they went up the ice.
Lucic played his best hockey last year with Seguin. He was actually forced to move his feet and skate.
I've actually felt for awhile that Krejci's slow it down - Matrix style hurts Lucic's overall play at times. The production between the two is fine, but I feel like he waits around for Krejci to do something too much while with Seguin, he was hustling to help create and carry the play.
Straight up, Krejci for Ryan makes sense for both teams. No need to add on either side unless you are also looking to swap prospects (say Caron for Etem).
Bruins have plenty of center depth as already mentioned.
Marchand - Bergeron - Ryan
Lucic - Seguin - Peverly
Caron - Kelly - Horton
Paille - Campbell - Thornton
I think they play Peverly with Seguin so he can take the draws. He was over 60% last year and routinely took them for Kelly because he was so much better at it. Also makes sense to ease Horton back in on the 3rd line.
Lucic played his best last year on a line with Kelly and Seguin. It seemed like the Krejci-2012-funk affected Lucic's game.
I don't know...
I'd love to have Ryan, but losing Krejci would hurt more than I think most people realize.
I'd have to agree with those who slot Bergeron on our top line. Tyler Seguin just isn't ready for that yet.
Something about his presence with the puck. Sure, he's electric and fast, but he doesn't know how to slow the game down yet. He doesn't know how to be creative. Seems like every time he had the puck coming through the neutral zone last spring, he would try to go wide and end up either turning it over or taking a low percentage shot. I haven't seen him make those tough passes that Krecji and Bergeron have come to be good at.
Marchand is not a first line winger and looch is all brawn no playmaking ability krecji needs a winger with more skill and Boston just doesn't have that and cj needs to open up and be a little more offensive minded

I loved this post, but for different reasons, you know?

Ryan one way or the other will be out of Anaheim by the start of the year imo. He is just too annoyed.
Anaheim will want more than Krejci. If they ask for Krejci + spooner , do you want PC to do the trade? We have very little assets otherwise. Maybe Krejci + Knight and 2nd round pick could possibly make the trade possible
Potential lineup
Lucic Seguin Horty
Marchand Bergeron Ryan
Pev Kelly Caron
4th line
Looks good and this is right about a good time to get Seguin accustomed to playing centre
If a train leaves Boston headed west and another train leaves Anaheim headed east, does wheeler still get blamed for krejci's extra move at the blue line? Does looch?
I almost want this deal to happen just so I can read the misery that Bobby Ryan puts on this place...He's actually the wing version of David Krejci, of course without the postseason resume...
