If Dubnyk actually got between 3.5 and 4.0 mill he should suck his agents ****.

Year to year, Schneider has been better the entire way.

Jimmy Howard (2.25M) and Josh Harding (1.9M) are probably best comparables.

Anderson had comparable numbers this past season. He's inconsistent. Stands on his head for months, then drops the ball for weeks.

Outplayed Luongo last year. Even if Roberto isn't moved, Schneider is the starter. Elite AHL level Goaltender who's put up clear starter numbers in his NHL stints the last few years.

Dubnyk has started more games because there is no Luongo here, but he's the worse Goalie.

Career save percentages:

Rask- .926
Schnieder- .928
Dubnyk- .910

One of these things is not like the other.

I'd be ok if Dubnyk is getting something around $2 or less. I can't imagine how he could be making more looking at the contracts signed over the last calender year.

$3.5 million per year perhaps. A little steep as I'd rather he be closer to Harding than Schneider/Rask.

You mean the teams the played on? Yeah, not even close to comparable.

So I guess we should of just left him unsigned, then what? Go with Danis?

I'm a little surprised at 2 years, but I guess he can be the back up next year if he fails.

I agree they're aren't comparable but goalie stats are tough they both played of better teams with better defense and played less games

Salary is pretty closely linked to stats in the NHL.

Dubnyk doesn't have the stats. Goalies on bad teams have put up good numbers in the past. If Dubnyk's stats were better, the team would have finished higher in the standings, then there wouldn't be a team excuse.

I don't see any reason why the Oilers should fork over big dollars. None.

Generally, isn't the rule of thumb that save % is more based on the actual goalie's performance, where GAA is more of a team stat?

Will wait to see the terms, but just take him to arb on a one year deal if the money is too pricey for a 2 year deal

2 year 2.7 mil/per

Good deal for him, I think Dubi is severley underrated and with a full season as the starter he may have a breakout year.

I wouldn't pay him more than 1.5m per season until he actually proves he's a legit NHL goalie. After watching him play based on the first two-thirds of last season, I'd let him walk. His final third of last season looked solid. That being said.. I'm just not a Dubz fan and have zero faith in his game.

I don't mind spending 3 million on a starting goalie. Which is what Dubnyk is.

Argue if you want.

If he's getting over 3 million, it's a travesty.

What rights does Dubby have? He's a RFA and no one is handing him an offersheet.

Save% can be a team stat too, if you have a really good defensive system that allows mostly outside low % shots, your save% is gonna look good.
