Am I missing something why Avs fans are hating on Petry on the main board?
For the past year or so, the Avs fans have been hating A LOT. I do not know what happened, but they've been edgy against us for some reason. This was mentioned a month ago as well. So it's not just me who noticed it. lol.

Whatever. I never thought that I'd ever see Senators fans displaying animosity towards Oilers fans but we're getting that as well.
Rangers fans are the best and most down to earth fans on the board. I can have a hockey conversation with pretty much all of them. And they respect the heck out of the Oilers franchise too. Maybe it's the Messier connection.
People, You are forgetting a few things concerning Petry...........last year he was not very physical.....he did not even pin forwards coming down the boards and he certainly did not knock anybody down in front of the net!
Just hope that he learns this coming year........the salary seem fair to me if he can stay in the line up!

I wasn't sure if there was a particular incident involving Petry or not. Yeah since the RNH/Landeskog battles they have been down right ruthless towards us. I'm pretty sure we've all moved on, but they sure as hell haven't.
Hopefully he can prove during this contract that he is worth a long term deal on his next deal. Smart deal by Tambo. Petry needs to prove he can handle a full NHL season before they commit long term.

Petry was fine defensively unless it was a 1on1 situation. Skilled guys were turning him inside out. It was embarassing sometimes. lol. But you're understating his physicality this season. He stepped it up as the season went on.
He led the team in TOI and had 120+ hits. No idea what you're talking about. Compare that to Smid's 180 hits.
This contract is a steal whichever way you put it..
1.75m is excellent. Not sure why Tamby likes to overpay or goaltenders though...
