So how much do you think Calgary will demand at the trade deadline for him?

well, with Hudler out of the way, Parise can now decide where he wants to sign.

Good luck for Happy Huds. You took again the most money. Hope you build some good chemistry with Cervenka.

Not sure how he fits in at Calgary given their need for centers. But, its a good payday and he'll get lots of ice time so good for him.

Wow this is sad. I liked Huds apart from what most people thought of him, and I believe ours issues were far deeper than him. At 2.5 per he was a very good value for 20ish goals.

I did believe at the time though that Holland should have put him on the trade block after 2008 because I had a feeling his value was the highest it would be and that we could have gotten something out of it; sure enough with the following negotiations, the KHL experiment (which IMO made him a much worse player), and the season it took to get back to an NHL level of competitiveness, Holland probably should have indeed traded him prior like I believed.

Anyways I wish the guy good luck. Won a cup with us, was a Red Wings draft pick. It was unfair how he was picked on.

But who is going to steal Hank and Datsyuk's moves in the shootout now?

Hudler all about the money I guess, weren't the Wings offering $3.25mm/yr, or something like that? Just saying, not at all sorry to see him go but so much for the "I love Detroit etc..."

That's right, I was trying to think of any Czechs on the team. Roman Horak also...don't know if he's Czech or Slovak.

I don't think Calgary is the right fit.
Hudler's leaving deserves it own thread.

It's pathetic to open this thread and read dozens of hate-filled bashings from a game in April

The guy played well this year. And he outscored Franzen, Datsyuk, and Flip in the playoffs, too.

I think Hudler was better for this team than Scammy the Coward. But oh well, Coach Babcock didn't like him.

It's sad because he has all the tools he needs to score 50 points, but he's just way too small on a team that's already too small.

I appreciate his talent, but I'm not sure it's good for him to be a Top-6 player on a playoff team.
The way you say it, it's like Hudler has never scored 50 before...

I think Hudler will be missed a lot more than you guys realize if Parise or Semin don't sign with us, which chances of happening is growing up by the minute.

Hahaha
My guess is that if Hudler felt wanted, he might be a Red Wing.

When coach Babcock comes out gives some Swiss League dweeb an automatic pass into the top 6, he's inviting you to leave

After all of those tweets about Babcock standing outside of little Jiri's house with a boom box over his head.

Poor Huddles.
