LOL E finished last in +/- once, in the '09-'10 season. And for the record, Lilly never finished last among Wing defensemen.

He finished last in 09-10 at -15. I already thought that was known. So, +9 over the last 3 years. But, there was no streak of three straight years with the worst +-. In fact, he went from last in 09-10 to the best over the last 2 years. That 3 year streak wasn't close to being true for Lilja, either, so I was just very confused by what you wrote.

Thanks. Okay, I looked up the last couple of years. I guess the main thing that stands out is that Lidstrom was the worst 2 yrs ago at -2. Ericsson had his best year the year before his contract was signed, having played 18-19 min/gm; last year the IT was just around 17 min/gm. I suppose the bigger point is that we may be stuck with having this guy play top four minutes, at 22+ per game? And no one else is concerned. Ah well.

Jesus Christ.

Jon Ericsson isn't some defensive stud. He has significant issues with positioning and he lacks the aggression you want to see from a 6;5 defenseman. He's not "shut down guy" or a "PK" specialist.

Not anymore than most third pairing guys who play the PK.

Two years ago, Ericsson began the season with his job in jeopardy after a horrible, horrible season. He's done enough to solidify himself as a roster player and not much else.

Coach Babcock likes to pump his tires a lot. But Babock likes players of the caliber of Abdelkader too.

I like Ericsson. I've had my eye on the kid since the first scouting reports came out after the draft (turned out a lot better than Johan Bergrenn).

But Ericsson hasn't lived up to the early potential he showed.

But when it comes to defense? I'll take Ericsson over Q.
Watching Q play defense is like watch preschoolers operate a fireworks show.
