So what you're saying is that next offseason Perry and Iginla are sure things, right?

I'm not surprised but that sucks. Do you remember who tweeted it?

I'm actually surprised that we haven't heard any rumors that Philly is looking to sign Semin. Holmgren's probably getting close to having an anyuerysm from not basking in the spotlight after a huge offseason move.

They are taking their sweet time getting him a big time winger. Although they did try twice with Hossa and Parise.

Off topic: I had a nightmare last night we traded James Neal. I woke up worried but quickly realized it was just a dream. In the dream he was lighting it up for another team and the Pens were struggling to score. I was beyond pissed. I guess now I know how Dallas fans feel.

Imagine Crosby calling him next summer and selling him on the Penguins and being his Center...I don't want to say it's not in the bag, but it's in the bag if that happens. Unless the Flames change in a big way and he decides he likes the direction they are heading and doesn't want to bail just yet.
I love Iggy but...ehh...I ain't gettin' my hopes up.

Kinda like Jagr against us last year. Didn't that ****** always seem to score everytime we played Philthy last year? Sure felt like it....

The writing was on the wall with Jagr last year though. Everyone should have known Jags was going to sign somewhere else when he said his heart was in Pittsburgh. Everyone knows Jagr doesn't have any heart.

Can i please have an RFA for dummies course. Capgeek shows Weber and Voracek for instance as not on the roster for there teams as they are RFA-2012.
Now...what exactly does that mean? Is Philly and Nash STILL the only teams that can negotiate? When does that period end? What is likely to happen with those players since they dont have contracts for this upcomming year?
Thanks for helping this dummy

Weber

Guys, please, PLEASE stop with these ridiculous Weber proposals. He's not coming here: we do not have the assets to get him.

Nashville does not want Martin as part of a package, and they don't want our D prospects -- they have their own D prospects who are as good as, if not better, than ours are. They will want a boatload of HIGH-END forwards and forward prospects to move him. You guys need to almost think of a Lindros-type of return.

And as much as I love Weber, it's greedy to think we need to have 2 Norris candidates, along with the 2 best centremen in the league. We have a fabulous guy in Letang and a great group of prospects who, in a few years, could together comprise the best overall defense corps in the entire league. We need to balance the short-term and the long-term.

It's just not feasible. They will want a current/future top-10 forward in the league ++ as part of the package, and we're not trading either of ours. We're not the right fit as trading partners -- for Weber or Yandle.

It was early in the morning, I just went on Twitter to see if there any Pens signings before I took a shower and I read that and felt a little bummed to see it.

Edit: Can't find it right now, but I could find stuff like this...

It's no secret that Semin is interested in playing in Pittsburgh. But he wants a long term deal. Don't know if Pens are willing to go there.

Gandler, Semin's agent, gives no hints whatsoever. The best I could get out of him was "Semin's priority is to sign with an NHL team."

And...I hate this dude, but...

Just spoke with Agent Mark Gandler who tells me he see's his client Alexander Semin as a "possible" and "good" fit in Pittsburgh

I wouldn't be mad if Semin signed a 3yr deal at the most, but as someone mentioned, since the lockout, Semin has average more ppg than Parise has. Or something to that extent, Semin might be underrated for once, of course if the Pens get him..."totally overrated n stuffs"

TIOPS and HockeyyyyyInsiderrrrrrrrr aren't good sources for facts, but they are good for conversation starters haha.

For the sake of arguement what do you think about that (likely made up) rumor of us offering $18m over 4 years for Semin? I think that would be a steal for a guy of his talent level. I'd bump that up to $20m over 4 years without hesitation and would be willing to negotiate around deals above that.
