JIMMY HAYES GOAL! 3-2 Hogs

Great passing play there and a tap in for Hayes. St Pierre and Leblanc I believe with the passes.

Great feed from Andrew Shaw. Kruger gets the secondary assist.

I know it's early in the season, but I'm just gonna put it out there that through 5 games, Kruger and MSP are tied as Rockford's leading scorers, both at a PPG pace. Technically, Kruger actually is in first since he has an extra goal on MSP. It's really early in the season so it doesn't mean much of anything, but I don't think many on this board would've expected that kind of production from Kruger so quickly.

Leddy comes in as the 3rd best scorer with 3 points through 5 games. By the way, the AHL has him listed at 190 pounds. Did he weigh that much last year or has he bulked up a little?

Blackhawks site has him listed at 191.

No, it's weird considering some of the players in the lineup tonight who are just plain not good and have no future with the team.

3 games in 3 nights... may be a reason why.

other reason could be that he wasn't that good as of now.

I liked what I've seen yesterday. Can't wait to hear more about Krüger and Leddy being bad for the Hogs

I love reading everyone's assessments about the players on the icehogs, then reading martinis synopsis. Either EVERYONE is wrong, or he is.

I expected decent production out of Kruger.

He did very well in the SEL and this league isn't much better/worse than that league.
I could see Kruger leading the Hawk hopefuls in scoring this year, he has great vision and a knack for the dirty areas.

I just don't think his game translates as well in the NHL.

Kruger has looked solid at the AHL level but not outstanding. He seems to float more than he did in the NHL which I find surprising but he seems to be showing off better play making abilities and his shot seems harder and more effective. Maybe this is a result of the talent he's facing allowing him more space and just being not as good as in the NHL.

I think it's obvious he should've been in this position last year working on his game.

I dont think anyone said he is wrong about his observation about the actual play. However when the argument gets into the realm of who should be playing at the NHL level or not, there is a difference of opinion. Take St. Pierre for instance. One of the oldest on the Hogs yet hes been in the AHL for most of his career. Nothing wrong with that but have all the NHL teams hes been affiliated had a lack in judgment b/c he hasnt made an NHL roster yet... or for that matter most career AHL players. Yeah St. Pierre is ahead of many 1st and 2nd year players at Rockford who may or will eventually be pushing for roster slots on the Hawks.

I don't get why people would be surprised by Kruger's production. He's a very smart and talented player. You don't score the kinds of points Kruger scored in the SEL, at the age he scored them at, by being some bum. Kruger's needed to get stronger and he's needed experience in North America. He got alot of the latter in the NHL last year and he should only continue to get better as he matures physically and as a player.

Didn't see anyone mention it, but McNeill had 3 assists last night as PA got back in the win coloum. McNeill is leading PA in scoring with 14 points (5G,9A) in 13 games played.

Youds knocked down to the ECHL.

I know he was good for Rockford last year, but I guess not good enough to stay now that the Hawks brass are running the show.

Guess that means it's time to bring Clendening and/or Olsen off the bench.

I'd roll something like...

Leddy-Stanton
Olsen-Youds
Lavin-Lalonde

Haven't been impressed with Dalhbeck. Would've liked to see Clendening get more time in the NCAA. Lebda, just at the moment, seems to not really been needed.

I only got to see one game but in said game Youds look good to me. Certainly too good for the Coast, at least in that small sample size.
