Glad to see Carruth turning out that kind of performance. Stock up in the goalie prospect mix. Better for him at this point to finish his jr eligibility and have this kind of strong performances behind a decent team than toil in the ECHL, at least for now.

Stupid demotion is stupid. I guess the Alec Richards contract extension comes next. We should demote Bowman to the CHL, give him a job washing jocks in Saskatoon, something he can handle. Probably still manages to turn the ****ers pink.

So playing maybe 1 out of every 4 games in Rockford is better than playing every game in the WHL?

Richards is going to play 20 games at best. Would you rather Mac play 20 games, split action in the ECHL or play nearly every game in the whl? It's not a Salak situation here for you to whine about.

Carruth to WHL made much sense. Hutton will play about 99% of the games, ECHL is DET + Simpson.

No, he should be starting in the ECHL, he's a better prospect than Simpson.

What's Stan up to these days? I know he caught an Ice Hogs game. Any other updates on the GM?

I know some GMs have turned into glorified scouts - but I wouldn't think that Stan has the hockey background to do that.

Probably the same things he'd be up to if there was a season

Simpson is splitting duties in the ECHL, so another place where Carruth wouldn't be getting a whole lot of starts.

It's best he is in the WHL getting playing time every night.

Also, to say he is the better prospect is a bit early don't you think?

Yeah it is early but he is definitely getting better at a bigger rate than Simpson. Maybe Simpson can make some strides too. I've always been really impressed with Carruth though. I like him a lot.

Problem is he wouldn't be starting there. Best case scenario would be to split games with Mrazek.

Mrazek just got promoted to Grand Rapids in the AHL yesterday. Good bet that he sticks.

Now its Simpson's time to sink or swim.

Under most circumstances, I'd say that Carruth going back to juniors was extremely dumb, but since he's a goalie and he probably wouldn't be getting playing time anywhere else, I don't think it's too bad.

I think building confidence is a huge thing for a developing goalie, and there aren't many better ways to do that than what Carruth is doing right now.

Uh, yeah, based on what? On stats?

Kent Simpson had a career 3.02GAA and .911sv% in the WHL, Mac Carruth has a career 3.08GAA and .905sv%.. and that's with Carruth playing for a yearly powerhouse in Portland and Simpson playing for a basement dweller in Everett.

Was just going through hockeydb and noticed Kevin Hayes is off to a strong start with BC. He has 3 goals and 6 points through BC's first 5 games, putting him third on the team in scoring.

Haven't seen any games, but hopefully he can keep the scoring up.

Hayes is kicking it up a notch for BC.

He's not their best forward (that'd be Johnny Gaudreau) but he's definitely making that second line dangerous. As a BC fan friend of mine recently put it "he's been our second first line center."

Most of his goals have come on the power play, but he's done a lot of heavy lifting for them at even strength as well. Not sure if he plays on the PK.

I think all 3 goals are on the pp for Hayes. Suspect scoring ability if he doesnt get pp time at the next level (Rockford).

I hope Hayes works out but Im not liking Kelly and the draft brain trusts 2010 picks right now. Rensfeldt is already history.

Thinking heavily about heading over to Rockford to catch a game tomorrow. Safe to assume I can get a walkup ticket, I take it?

As an IceHog and Blackhawk fan, I was hoping for Mac Carruth to back up Carter Hutton this season and play about 25 games. Take the starting IceHogs goaltending next season and be ready for Hawks duty in 2014-2015.

Oh well...but IF this NHL lockout mess is ever fixed, the AHL and the ECHL are going to be shuffled like a deck of cards. Anything can happen.

Beach scores to tie it 1-1. Flick wins faceoff, Paradis with nice setup.

Lavin with a terrible defensive play and Wolves make it 2-1. Guy goes 1 on 4 against 4 Hogs and gets a goal...sad.

Bill Sweatt knocks in rebound for a goal on the PP. 4-1 Wolves now. Bad rebound, bad defense. Carter Hutton gets pulled.
