No one is arguing with you.

Can't be just any roster player though or any ho-hum prospect.

Ottawa had the foundation for that type of deal. Obviously didn't work out but not for Howson's crazy demands. They were pretty far along in talks for what was written.

Dubinsky is a much better winger than center I think. His 40 to 44 pt years were when he was center, and got 54 playing wing. He didn't get that many points this year since he was on a limited role, playing with Brian Boyle, Ruslan Fedotenko, or John Mitchell most of the time.

Haha...yeah right. Howson already tried that. Anaheim asked for Johansen.

It'd be awesome though.

Dont you think He should be talking more with the Teams on the List and leave the teams off the list alone . Why waste the time and set up deals knowing he isnt going to approve the deal . To me its like he is asking for things he knows he wont get to delay the deal from ever getting done ...

Essentially yes... Howson wanted Stone added but we weren't prepared to do that.. but Im sure things would have ironed themselves out but Nash didnt want to waive for Ottawa.

If I were Howson, I would trade Brassard in a heartbeat. If Erixson's Lunchbox's proposed deal includes a first round pick, I would package Brassard, Goloubef and one of the three first round picks we'll have in 2013 and go after a top six winger. Perhaps that might be an offer you could throw at Anaheim for Ryan? Just spitballin'.

Good GM's can get creative, unfortunately we have a GM that doesn't appear to have a creative bone in his body.

Yeah....It was written in our local rag here in CBUS that talks had advanced between Cbus and Nash more than any other team.

Supposedly Murray offered up Foligno (good young forward who we ironically got in the Methot trade) + Zibenijad (top 5 prospect) + Lehner (top 3 goalie prospect). Now idea if a pick would have been involved. Bottom Line: It was really strong and definitely one Howson would have kept on the back burner.

And of course Nash is anti Canada these days.

I'm not sure if you're just trying to be funny or sarcastic, but the City of Columbus and the fans are not the reason Nash wants out. It's our jackhole of a GM and his failure to put any semblance of talent around him.

At first--yeah I think that was happening.

But no team on his list offered anything so Howson has to explore all options and talk to teams and tell Rick to expand the list. Or he's staying. The interest on his listed teams aren't all that interested.

I'd wake up and there'd be nothing. I hardly said a word to my wife, until I said "yes" to a divorce. When I was here, I wanted to be there; when I was there, all I could think of was getting back into the jungle. I'm here a week now... waiting for a mission... getting softer. Every minute I stay in this room, I get weaker, and every minute Charlie squats in the bush, he gets stronger. Each time I looked around the walls moved in a little tighter.

Okay you want to be snide.

Det: Brenden Shanahan, Larry Murphy
Dal: Belfour, Mike Keane, Brett ****ing Hull
TB: Corey Stillman
CHI: Marian Hossa
PIT: __________

So 1 out of the 5 teams you said didn't make any drastic moves but actually lose Hossa, Ryan Malone, and Bill Guerin, and be replaced with Fedotenko, and Satan.

But hey I guess Brendan Shanahan, Larry Murphy, Ed Belfour, Mike Keane, Brett Hull, Corey Stillman( 2nd on team in points with 80 that year), and Marian Hossa aren't impact acquisitions.

The Penguins won the Cup in 2009 with Fedotenko, Satan, and Guerin.

So what happens if Kreider comes in and is that impact player we need? As much as you like that shiny new toy, I'm not convinced that the options currently presented will put us over the top. Also, did any of the acquisitions listed above cost the Cup winning teams core assets? Without looking all that up, I can guarantee at least three of those were either UFAs or non-disruptive deals (i.e. addons, deadline deals or involved draft picks). If you break the bank, do it for Weber. Otherwise, make the smart move (Doan) or wait for a good Playoff run Deadline deal. Sometimes timing is everything....

Perfect title. So true.

All of this hype for a just above average player. Crazy.

Slats step away..step far away This has the late 90's-2004ish written all over it.
