I'm surprised with all the Byron love. I know he's still young, but the only call ups that impressed me was Aliu, Baertschi, Irving and to a lesser extent, Horak. Even Bouma impressed me more than Byron, but Bouma is clearly a bottom six player at best. Horak and Byron I think played Sutter's game to his expectations, but they played great the first few games during their call-up, but otherwise fell off the map. It was probably Sutter's **** system and coaching, but still, I wasn't overly impressed.

I like Arnold, he's got everything. Decent offense, decent defense, solid hitting; looks like a future NHL player.

Any reason Bouma is being forgotten even though he has a fighting chance to make the team this season?

I agree, I only voted for Arnold because Bouma had no votes at the time.

He is a future leader on this team if he can become an everyday NHL'er, which to me seems quite likely.

Arnold's skating is still not great. I think it'll really hold him back. If you're going to vote for a low upside player who plays hard and with heart, you may as well have voted Bouma.

His skating looked fine to me this year...his offensive upside is much higher than Bouma's too....

Ortio's turn. Ok, he did have hard season in Canada, because he didn't play a lot, but then he came back to Finland and that was good decision. Very important player for TPS, Marek Schwarz was inconsistent, but Ortio came and took the starting goaltender spot. TPS was the last team to play in playoffs, and Ortio's role was pretty important. And after those games he played for the Finnish national team and was good. Goalies reach their potential later, and Ortio is just only 21. Ok, goalies are also more uncertain than other players, but I have a good feeling of Ortio.

Have to say that we have a good pool in our goalie prospects.

Bouma is a nice/effective player, but he's probably going to top out at like 20-25 points in his prime, he'll likely slot in at about #19-20.

Arnold should at least have 40-point upside, if not more. This is a guy that was 2nd or 3rd in scoring for the US at the WJCs, and had almost a PPG for the top team in the NCAA. Add that to his physical play and defensive awareness, and I do think he's a better prospect than Bouma.

Speaking of our Finnish goalies, is there a reason why Ramo doesn't make the list? As far as we should be concerned, he is a prospect and a good one at that. Far better than Ortio at this point, but behind Irving.

Same reason Cervenka isn't an option they are 26.

What? Watched a lot of BC this year and he was every bit as good as Krieder, who everyone has a ***** for. Arnold's skating is a strength. He's not a lightning bolt out there, but he's very strong on his skates and gets from poit A to point B with incredible efficency. No one is going to mistake him for Jay Bouwmeester in his skating, but he ain't Brad Marsh out there. He'll be a very solid third line center, like Craig Conroy, and help out on the top lines if pressed. Really solid player.

Does anybody know if Billyboy is coming to camp this year? I'd love to see him play at that Dinos game.

Fair enough. My sampling of Arnold's game is admittedly small. With Krieder and Almieda's graduation to the pro ranks, Arnold and Gaudreau should have a bigger role, which can only help in their development.
