Last week Burke publicly said they had talks with Brodeur, however he wasn't shocked that he re-signed in New Jersey and obviously didn't go into any details on what type of deal they offered him. So that can't hurt him in talks with Mike Gillis. If anything with the things Luongo has said he is the one hurting the Canucks chances of making a good deal, since he said it's time for him to move onto another team and etc.
