Trade For Dan Boyle?

Anyone interested in trading for Boyle? What would you think the price would be, or would SJ even trade him to us?

Not interested in another aging dman. Plus, the asking price would be through the roof.

This is not the kind of defenseman the Hawks need to trade for.

You start a thread advocating trading for someone and you don't check his cap hit, contract length, or NC/NMC status.

Generally if you start of thread you should do such due diligence first, instead of relying upon everyone else to simply shoot down your idea.

Dan Boyle is awesome and certainly the kind of player the Hawks should trade for. Not like the Sharks would do it, though.

Name me one dman that isn't aging.

No kidding. Some players are aging into their prime and some are currently aging and becoming a shell of their former self. Boyle is the ladder to a degree.

He may not be the physical player that many Hawk fans seem to collectively wet their pants over, but you're quite right. Boyle is one of the best defensemen in the league and is great at both ends. He would help this team a ton.

But unfortunately he isn't going anywhere.

Why? Considering the vast price he would command, and the fact we already have two top pairing defensemen, all we would be doing is creating severe holes somewhere else for something we really don't need.

At the price we can afford to pay, we need physical #3 defensemen. Not all around #1 defensemen.

From similar trades, I'm assuming that the vast price that we would have to pay would be Rusty Olesz. We're not even using him, we can afford to let him go.
