Predict Chevy's moves this summer

Prediction thread only! Absolutely no conversation, that goes into the other thread. Keep it as short as possible. Be as specific or as general as you'd like.

Mods: I already received permission from Jet to make this thread, please don't roll it into the other one.

PS: Don't forget trades!

1) Upgrade top six RW by signing one of:

- Teemu Selanne
- Alexander Semin
- Shane Doan
- Petr Sykora

If those four sign elsewhere, then he will sign Kyle Wellwood to a 2.5 million/2 year deal

2) Upgrade 4th line LW

3) Re-sign Kane

Other than trying to sign Wellwood, no additional moves

sign wellwood for a 2.8 mill 2year deal.

I think the Jets should give him a chance. We're already in it for one year, give him a low two way contract and maybe he can find his game once more.

Attempt to re-sign Kyle wellwood, hopefully to a one or two year deal.
Re-sign Evander Kane to a 5 year lucrative deal, this one isnt a prediction as much as a wish. I'd give up UFA years for security.
Sign Fehr to a one year low salary contract with the hope that he regains his form as a 15-20 goal scorer. Even 10 goals would be a nice addition from the third line.

- Attempt to re-sign Wellwood. If he can't get him, we probably are done up front.

- Re-sign Kane (2-3 years, around $3.5M), Postma, Kulda

- Probably sign one more depth D on a two-way deal (maybe Flood)

- Possibly a trade of one of the following for a little more "grit": Hainsey, Miettinen, Clitsome, Postma, Klingberg

I can't see Semin signing in Winnipeg. Semin is a typical russian who strives to be on the big stage making mega bucks. My prediction is that once Nash signs somewhere (other than the Rangers), Semin will sign in NY. Perfect market for him.

I'd love to see them sign Postma, Kulda, and even Festerling again. Postma was without a doubt the best player on the ice most nights the IceCaps played (including opposition). He will play well in Winnipeg if given the chance. Kulda is a great stay at home d-man.

Resign Kane... 3 year/$13+mill

Trade Enstrom (if he won't renegotiate)... For ideally a 2013 1st rd pick, roster player and prospect

Sign depth Dman... 2 yr/$4> mill

Postma, Kulda, and Machacek are all RFA's. However they have received qualifying offers from Winnipeg, but there's been nothing released to the public yet stating if either accepted.

Get estimate on new fence.

Cross-border shopping with wife.

Upgrades on cabin.

Straighten out fairway woods, maybe a lesson or two. Definitely driving range.

Relax with a good biography, maybe "The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band", by Tommy Lee.

Those two (along with Macenauer, Maxwell, Machacek, Festerling and obviously Kane) were given qualifying offers. They'll be back.

Trade Postma and 2nd Round pick 2013(chicago's) for a top six RW with some size who can score.I like Postma but there just isn't a need for him with our D the way it is now.

There's no way Fehr will accept a two-way deal, nor should he.

He was bad for us, but he's a guy who scored 20 goals just two seasons ago. He hasn't played in the AHL in three seasons.

Some team will pick him up as a project due to his potential and his size. Same goes for Wojtek Wolski.

*Sign the signings he already has. (Duh)
*Finish deals with qualifying offers extended for RFA's
*Send offers to Semin, A.Kostitsyn, Stafford, and Wellwood (probably Selane too but good luck). If no one, or just Wellwood, trade one of our D prospects (Postma, Kulda, Yuen, Melch, Redmond) and a pick for a 2nd line RW.
*sign any prospects who look good at camp to ELC (possibly Houser, definately Trouba, etc. etc.)
*Make Sheifele, Telegin (and Burmi) fight for top6 spot; send Sheif to juniors, Tele to IceCaps and Burmi to third line if they don't win the spot over the FA/trade. If they do win and we sign one FA>Wellwood, *maybe* trade extra lower top9 and a pick/prospect for a LH 2nd pairing PK specialist D.
*Maybe sign 4th line LW FA. Have the FA, Cormier, Machecek, Miettinen, Thorburn fight for 2 remaining spots on 4th line with Slater.

We then have the following possible lineup being most likely (obviously shuffling happens with streaks/chemistry). After that I have the lineup again just for the top 9 with the number representing their production for their position (ex: Kane had 22nd most points for LW in NHL) where 1-30 represents a 1st liner talent, followed by 31-60 for 2nd and 61-90 for 3rd. (PS Also, keep in mind Burmi will most likely have the most dramatic points increase to 30ish if on 3rd line, 40ish if on second).

Kane-Jokkinen-Wheeler
Ladd-Little-FA
Ponikarovsky-Burmistrov-Antropov
Cormier-Slater-Machecek
Miettenin/Thorburn
Enström-Byfuglien
Hainsey-Bogosian
Stuart-Postma/Kulda

22-19-12
29-42-(27-35)
52-84*-49

*as said befor Burmi is most likely to improve to high 30's low 40's this year which would jump him into mid-late 40th place for C.

I'll let you figure out how lines would fall if we did sign one FA + Wellwood and one of Sheif/Tele made the team, then we trade for 2nd pairing LHD.
