Hehe, it wasn't really a proposal. More like I'll say something AS ridiculous as I think the Getzlaf deal to be. That said, in a fantasy world where I actually am GM, I'm not saying I'd do it, but I still like the Buff deal better than the Getzlaf deal. Mine's free.

And, maybe I'm ignorant - in fact, I'm pretty sure of it - but could you show me somewhere he's said he'll only honour his contract if he's on D? If Buff was the kind of guy who tells the coaches how he's going to play instead of the other way around, I have to think Chevy would have pulled the trigger on one of the many offers I'm sure he's received on the guy since taking the job.

I'm pretty convinced that if the coaches thought he could be an effective center and asked him to play there, he would do his best to help the team win, and not gripe about it too much.

Not that I think it's what we should do. I was responding to a comment that stated we need a big 27 year old center with a Stanley Cup ring. Buff is 6'5, 27, and played as a C/RW/D during his time in Chicago, where he won the cup.

One of the laziest and one of the most point-dropping player for Toby and Burmi? What the ****? No way.

in my opinion, burmistrov will be the best forward on the team one day....if i were in charge, he would be untouchable.

To those that think Buff at forward is a good idea (using the small sample size of the playoffs when they won as background) you should really take a loot at buff's stat-line in Chicago as a forward. It really wasn't that good and was a plus player only once.

As some Chicago fans have mentioned, Buff's going to drive you nuts as forward just as much as a D, because he doesn't hit or use his body like you'd expect. In only one season did he put up a high number of hits, he's not really that effective as a power forward.

Finally he's scored at huge rate comparatively as a dman, while putting up roughly the same +/- as when we was a forward.

I'm sorry but i have no interest in pay 5 mil a year for a 35 point forward.
