Flames - Avs

To Calgary:

Matt Duchene

To Colorado:

Jay Bouwmeester
Sven Baertschi

I already know the majority of my fanbase is going to not like this deal but I do not care. I think it is FINALLY time the Flames go out and get a #1C, and I think that need trumps our need for Sven. Baertschi is a fantastic wonderful talent, but Duchene is basically the same age and would be our #1C for years to come.

The Avs have the depth to make this move (O'Reilly, Statsny) and they would also get that partner to play with Johnson along with a young talent who should be a top line sniper for many years to come.

Flame away!!

Respectfully declined, we're not trading Matt at all and certainly not in division, that's simply too big of a gamble.

Duchene will likely end up as a 25G 35A good second line centre if a bit soft and not very good defensively.

Bartschi will be a soft second line offensive type who puts up 20G 20A

Bouwmeester is a legit top pairing guy

Avs take this and run, Flames get bent over.

Duchene put up 55 points as a rookie he will more than likely be more than a 60 point player sorry to burst your bubble also bouwmeester has not played like a top pairing guy since he came to the flames add in his overinflated contract and the Avs dont touch this with a 10 foot pole not to mention its in division.

If any of Colorados centres will be moved its Statsny

I'd rather take an acid bath than see Duchene in a Flames jersey, no matter the return.

Baertschi MIGHT be a star but can also completely bust. Duchene IS already a star, don't see the Avs taking this risk just for Bouwmeester.

Baerstchi MIGHT be a star AHLer but never in the NHL. Duchene would be a star in the AHL but he's nothing close to it in the NHL. And never will be.

Notorious N.E.B. strikes again.

Matt Duchene will never play for the Flames.

Just to add, I can get why the Avs would say no to this, but this is more than a significant offer from the Flames perspective. So value IMO would is not the issue, it is more whether or not it is a proper fit between division rivals.

duchene was fare from a star last season
massive over payment for an under sized centre who hasn't lived upto his potential.\
flames say hell no./

The flames haven't had a good prospect since the beginning of time so now that they finally do, of course they are going to treat him like the second coming.
