Eller should fire his agent and Bergevin should be fed grapes while being carried around Montreal on a gold throne.

How in the world would Lars Eller be worth 2+ million on a short-term deal? 1.325 is completely fair, and a good deal for both parties.

Completely agreed. It is a fair deal, now where are all those who were expecting 2+ million?

Very nice!!

Eller is a strong player and has an effusive personality.

Great contract! The Canadiens are getting better on paper.

In this one apparently. I love it when people make extreme comments about their assumptions.

Prust making almost twice as much is amusing, though.

Makes a lot of sense. If he had gotten $2.5M per for 47 points over 163 games, that'd be ridiculous...especially on a short-term deal.

With $7.5M left in cap space and only Subban and Diaz to sign, everything should work out for Montreal. Next season might be interesting with no major contracts coming off the books and Pacioretty, Desharnais, and Weber to re-sign, but if they can make it through that year they're golden (Gomez, Gionta, Kaberle, and Markov all off the books in 2014...$22.3M in cap space right there).

Great signing for the Habs. I miss him in St. Louis, even though he only played a few games. Wish him the best of luck in Montreal.

They would've easily given him 1.8 had he had a competent agent.

Very happy to be wrong.

It's not really amusing that Prust makes almost twice as much, that's how the NHL works you know.

Younger guys have their rights more easily retained by their team which drafted them and older guys hit UFA and make far more money.

Most of us are excited that we have a young exciting guy like Eller inthe line up at a huge bargain for 2 years.

Why, what do you need?

Prust is one of the best as his position in the league and was a UFA. Eller isn't and was an RFA. Pretty simple.
