One is the number 1 defender on the team, while the other just got drafted while only playing 18 games in the last season. Since when did all-star players<<prospects?

Also, I think Islanders would take Phaneuf over Lupul as well.

Would Bergevin really take a backup for Price instead of Milan freaking Lucic?

Its hard after the first 2 with me fully believing whether it goes by the NHL draft order or its Columbus picking first, Edmonton gets Ovechkin and Columbus gets Backstrom based on needs.

Then it gets kind weird trying to figure out who's going to take Kuznetsov. Montreal should be the obvious choice.

Eh I tried.

Oh and to the Habs draft, the Ducks would take Plekanec over Markov without even thinking twice. Fowler is our Markov for the future, and if he doesn't pan out offensively we have Vatanen and Lindholm.

I have to agree, after Tavares I am guessing Hamonic, Okposo, Reinhart and Strome would fill out the top 5 in some order(with the possible chance Moulson, Streit or Niederreiter slipping in)

In general teams picking low are looking for long term assets not a guy on a 1 year deal(ie Nabohov or Streit)

Really? NO one would take a 27 year old #1/#2 D-man who puts up 40ish points a season, hits like a truck and has a killer shot over an 18 year old who played 18 games in the Dub last year? Don't get me wrong, Rielly's a blue chip PROSPECT with abundant skill and vision but that's all he is right now; a prospect.
