Kyle Beach

Anybody know how his development has gone? I'm curious if he will have an opportunity to crack into the NHL and provide some grit for the Chicago Blackhawks, even on the 4th line.

Seems like the posters who watch the Ice Hogs think he has a good shot and would provide the grit and physical presence we need. The HF echo chamber says he is a bust. I think we need someone with his scouted skillset on the roster asap.

Was off to a great start last year in Rockford prior to getting hurt.

If he brings the same level of play as last year I think he makes the club, at least part time.

this. He showed massive improvements last year, especially his defensive game.

We need him on the big team.

others surpassed him on the depth chart and on the prospect ranking. He is not untouchable, but he lost a year. He is back and he is healthy going into next season. I doubt he makes the team but I think he will get a call up during the year and stick with that spot - Bickells spot.

His D improved but he isn't and most likely will never be a good defensiv forward. Skating isn't really a strenght but it won't hold him back in the future. He matured a lot

Again, haven't seen Beach play, but his game as described, sounds like a younger, faster and (much) more physical version of Brunette, with a better shot. This team could use such a player.

I hope he plays well enough to stick around for a few regular season games to see how he fares. Perhaps he and Hayes may end up competing for the same spot?

not really like Bruno. Beach isn't that around the net / net presence guy like Bruno was when he was younger. On the Hawks, most compareable would be Bickell

A 4th line of Beach-Mayers-Carcillo would be a b*tch to play against.

Unless the other team was playing hockey. The thought is fun, but I'm not so sure I want those 3 on the ice at the same time. I have visions of the Hawks being down 5 on 3 at the end of the shift if the other team touched the goalie or a defensman.

I like Beach-Bolland-Shaw a lot better.

Why would either of the last 2 be on a 4th line?

I don't see that as a good comparison at all. I would call him an angrier more offensively oriented version of Andrew Ladd.

That was supposed to be the third line. I thought that was obvious with Bolland as the center.
