I'd join too.

I'm also ok with 2 goalies, but I'd add the restriction that you can't carry a 3rd goalie as one of your extras.

Yea someone might get screwed but smart drafting can avoid that also trades can be made to try and bring in a 1B goaltender if you are getting screwed.

Usually you only do two goalies for leagues of ten or less.

Also if we do keeper limits we won't need prospect pools either, those ate only for full keeper teams as you draft prospects the year they are eligible anyways.

But I prefer even less keepers... 10 IMO is a bit much on a full roster. That's half of your defence core, your top two lines, AND your starting goaltender, seeing as prospects are usually protected anyways.

There's no hard choices, just changing/drafting your third and fourth line and 2 or 3 defencemen isn't enough IMO. Also, with less keepers, I find people tend to not go on "automatic" i.e. lose interest. There's more things to manage and look out for, new star players to draft, and keeping an eye on a much better FA pool at the end of the season.

I would like to suggest 7 keepers. That's 1 offensive line, 2 defencemen, and 1 goaltender, plus one other random player.

From what I have gathered, most people would like smaller keepers, from 7-12. So, I would like to say that we should get 9 keepers, with the winner getting an extra keeper.

Also, prospects would be kept each season. (you bring them up when they hit the NHL. You would get 2/3 bench spots for them)

Ok, that adds up to 18 people, I say people joining is all done.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ALL IN ALL, here is what I have gathered.

* People want smaller keepers from 7-12, so I say 9 keepers, with the winner getting an extra keeper.

* People want big rosters, so this will most likely be the roster:

12 Forwards
6 Defenseman
2 goalies
3 Bench spots
2 bench spots for prospects when they hit the NHL

That adds up 25 players.

That is going by majority saying/rule.

* Prospects WILL be protected year after year.

* We will not have a prospect draft this season, as it would get too complicated because of all the rookies that would be available. There will be a prospect draft for the seasons after.

Here is the full list of people who have said yes:

1. Me
2. Tfong
3. drewskiv
4. TheGleninator
5. GLaDOS
6. Devilspuppet666
7. Feel The Heat
8. Autograph
9. shidoshi

So stoked for this, can we maybe get a pinned thread and all? Maybe reserve a few posts and just post up news on the keeper league?

I think 8 teams make the playoffs, also waivers should be the same as the nhl worst team gets first option.

I assume we will do a snake draft so last 1st pick is first 2nd pick.

Yeah, I say either 4, 8, or 16 teams make the playoffs, since those are the numbers that divide evenly each time.

And yes, we will be doing a snake draft. Soon, I will randomly pick the draft order. (through a website)

Also, should GM's be able to veto trades, or should we let trades go through no matter what?

Maybe gms can veto trades but it has to a be vote and only trades that a gm has a problem with is voted on.

Don't like vetoing, I'd keep it as commish veto for unfair play though.

Ok, that sounds good! Anything else we should talk about?

Also, I will be sending everyone a PM asking them if they are still interested in doing the league. Please respond to the PM as soon as possible, so we can move on to the next step.

Lastly, after that is done, we will be doing the offline draft. We are doing it early so that we have 2 months to complete the draft, as it might take awhile to complete because there will be 25 rounds with 18 teams. This also means that we do not have to rush it.

Not sure if you can RIGHT now, but if someone else says that they are interested in doing the league then yeah, you can. Also, if someone doesn't respond to their PM in their confirmation in doing the league, then you can take their place.

Well, I'm using an online random order machine, on random.org.

And, what do you mean by "ate" the confirmed stats? The stats that we will use can be seen on the main post.
