I suggest something like giving you a list of players if one does not have time/access to the web for an extended period of time.

For example, if I'm going camping for the weekend, I'd send you:

1.Crosby
2.Ovechkin
3.Stamkos
4.Giroux

And so forth. Maybe a list of 10 or something and you'll help post the highest ranked player available as my draft pick.

I just don't wait everyone waiting on one person if that guy is away for a while

Ok, but what happens if they don't send me a PM of their ranked players? Just assign them the player with the most points?

This makes sense. A default selection after a certain time frame. But what if someone bails out because of it and default selections are given over and over again? It would be a drafted team of forwards.

Yahoo has pre-draft rankings... why not just use those? If you went by points only, suddenly all the forwards are gone... and Karlsson. :p

But with the pre-draft rankings list they have, just choose who's left available on the pre-draft list instead.

Tbh I don't think we should be doing trades till after the first draft is done. As this is a seeder draft you want everyone balanced as much as possible to start IMO.

Guys, trading your picks is not worth it at this point. Nobody has accumulated "extra" picks, and basically trading picks before you team is even built just means you could literally not have a competitive team for the first season.

Also, Yahoo only allows trading picks for an equal amount of picks sent back. You can't send your first rounder for 3 picks coming back. You gain nothing at the start of a season. In successful keepers, most players don't trade picks until the third year...

The 2011-2012 season has ended, but the 2012-2013 season for fantasy hockey has not begun yet. We are doing this early so we have enough time to do the draft. Since the 2012-2013 yahoo fantasy season has not begun yet, there are no pre-draft rankings.

Ok, that makes sense. So, there should be no trading picks this year. (and most likely the 2nd year)

The only website that has pre-draft rankings for the 2012-2013 season is ESPN, but they go by position. (forwards/defense/goaltenders). We could just use their projections, but we would use yahoo for the actual league.

The offline draft has started! So be aware when it is your turn! The rules for the draft are in the thread.

You have 24 hours to make your pick, or else it will be auto-selected for you.

Yep, chat here!

Right now it seems pretty predictable, except I thought Crosby would be taken somewhere among the 4-10 range.

I appear to have missed the PM requirement, so I guess I'm out.

Hopefully we don't hit any snags. It would be nice to get through a round a day.
