If he thought the media pressure was bad in Vancouver, good luck in Toronto.
My thoughts exactly. If media pressure is the reason he wants to get out of Vancouver, he has lost his god damned mind if he thinks it will be better in Toronto.
I don't think its the media pressure as to why he wants out, i just think that he sees the organization wants to go with young Cory and he doesn't want to pump any one's tires.
to me i can see him go to TBL they have some good young budding talent and he can enjoy his time.
Tho if he comes out and has a 1hr long special on tsn and takes his talents to south beach that would just be golden.

No he is very deserving of his reputation as a choker. He performs TERRIBLE under pressure. He almost gave up the Gold Medal for Canada at the olympics and probably would have had Crosby not gotten that lucky bounce against Miller. They showed several close up shots of Luongo in that game and he was TERRIFIED in every single one of them. Same thing last year in game 7 against Chicago, he got bailed out again. And then finally he got exposed by Boston in the Cup Finals later in the playoffs.
I think you're either remembering wrong, or seeing what you wanted to see instead of what was there. Remember, the only reason Luongo was playing for Canada was because of how the US blew up Brodeur. He might have been terrified, but had the OT gone the other way, no one would have been blaming Luongo, nor should they have.
As for that Chicago game 7, Chicago had that game won until Luongo decided to step up and keep his team in it. Remember all the jokes in that series? "Chicago leads the series 2-3." Luongo single handedly bailed his team out a number of times when everyone expected him to look like Fleury from this year's playoffs.
He is a total headcase, if you can get to him, he'll give up 5 goals a period. But when he manages to stay even keeled, he's one of the better goalies in the league.
I would love to see a Di Pietro - Luongo deal, but doubt Vancouver would be willing to do that. Just think though, 4th overall + the human IR list for Bobby Lu. Just imagine Mike Milbury being forced to talk about that trade and watching him squirm.

I do. I still think he's going to be considered the best player to come out of the 2011 draft when all is said and done. I just don't think he's going to be elite in the sense that he gets drafted early in fantasy drafts. I'm guessing he'll average Koivu-like numbers for his career, but still be one of the best in the game.
I'm not going to be getting on any Landeskog bandwagons until he shows he can keep his head up, and can make better decisions about hits along the boards. If he doesn't improve in both those categories, he's going to have a very short and painful career.

Dustin Penner, like Ryan Malone, will be one of those guys you love to have at $3m on your 2nd or 3rd line at for half the games of the year and the other half he's a complete non-factor.
