Or they want to right the wrong and take Klesa(sp) back.

Jackets would surely take OEL 1st.

They could easily turn around and trade JJ or Tyutin and build their blueline around OEL, Murray, and the Wizzz

It'd be nice if people slowed down and actually read a post before attempting to correct it.

Columbus takes one of Yandle/OEL

Oilers take left over of Yandle/OEL

Probably what will happen if there is a draft.

Really hard to justify trading JJ. I think they'd take him too, just makes the idea of Sending Murray back to the WHL alot easier.

Then the question becomes, who do you take 2nd?

Yandle, Hanzal, Gormley?

For me it's Gormley barely over Yandle.

Bob is friends with Jay's dad and has known JayBo since he was a teenager. The fact that Bob is throwing this out there on a regular basis should be taken seriously imo. At the very least I'd say the team and/or player are exploring the idea of a trade to EDM.

Yandle. I don't even have to think hard about it.

This team has plenty of potential. We need a sure thing.

Plus Feaster is constantly bashing the Oilers every chance he gets. At the draft, Feaster said they didn't draft 1st overall but got the best player.

I'd rather pass on Bouw, look at a cheaper option and go with it. Our D with another guy that can play top 4 minutes as an insurance policy really wouldn't be that bad. Not great by any means, but once J. Schultz hits his stride things will be looking much rosier than what most are anticipating seeing next season IMO.

Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner.
Boumeester rejected the Oilers once and the Oilers will not be trading with Jay "Oilers Basher" Feaster.

If OEL is off the board, definitely Hanzal

Top pairing defensemen are rare, but a 25 year old center with Hanzal's size and defensive ability is even rarer.

If the season is lost and they have another "post lockout" lottery with the same methodology they used last time these would be the number of balls in the draft for each team:

Anaheim Ducks 2 balls
Boston Bruins 1 ball
Buffalo Sabres 1 ball
Calgary Flames 3 balls
Carolina Hurricanes 3 balls
Chicago Blackhawks 1 ball
Colorado Avalanche 2 balls
Columbus Blue Jackets 3 balls
Dallas Stars 3 balls
Detroit Red Wings 1 ball
Edmonton Oilers 1 ball
Florida Panthers 2 balls
Los Angeles Kings 1 ball
Minnesota Wild 3 balls
Montreal Canadiens 1 ball
Nashville Predators 1 ball
New Jersey Devils 1 ball
New York Islanders 3 balls
New York Rangers 1 ball
Ottawa Senators 1 ball
Philadelphia Flyers 1 ball
Phoenix Coyotes 1 ball
Pittsburgh Penguins 1 ball
San Jose Sharks 1 ball
St. Louis Blues 2 balls
Tampa Bay Lightning 2 balls
Toronto Maple Leafs 3 balls
Vancouver Canucks 1 ball
Washington Capitals 1 ball
Winnipeg Jets 3 balls

51 balls in total

Any team with 3 balls would have a 5.88% chance of winning the #1 pick.
Any team with 2 balls would have a 3.92% chance of winning the #1 pick.
Any team with 1 ball would have a 1.96% chance of winning the #1 pick.

He never even made it to free agency.

I tend to agree but I wouldn't mind Hanzal either. Getting that big bodied 2nd line C would be huge for this club moving forward.

Something is niggling at my memory. Was there a no-trade list or something and Edmonton was on it?

I could be completely off-base here though.

Do you think Hanzal is good enough offensively to be a second line centre on the Oilers going forward? I'm not sure.

This is what I'm questioning too,He has great size, but his offense doesn't look any better then what a typical 3rd liner would get.

I doubt the Oilers want anything to do with Blowmeester as he said he wouldn't have signed in Edmonton.

After he signed with Calgary, he said he wouldn't have signed in Edmonton anyway.

I haven't seen Phoenix play enough but I'm assuming he spent most of his time playing between plugs like Taylor Pyatt and Lauri Korpikoski????

I'd like to see how Hanzal would do between say, Hall and Yakupov.

Yeah he said that, a LONG time ago, things change. The Oilers are interested, because Bouwmeester is a top-4 defenseman that can be acquired for cheap.

Calgary acquired his rights at the Draft, he never made it to Free Agency.

When I look at his points over the years, it looks like he's a capable of 15-20g and 25-30a.

I'd be fine with having a 40-50p #2C with his defensive ability.

Hanzal was playing between Whitney and Vrbata in the playoffs.
