Must win game tonight in Houston, I'd like to see Nesta in the starting eleven to give Montreal a chance to score an early goal and then sit on the lead, although he isn't fit to play 90 minutes probably he could still play 60-70 good minutes so hopefully he starts. Bernier and Felipe better not be playing defensive mid again, they are the only two players who can play with Di Vaio.
Meh Arnaud probably isn't Captain next year. I would imagine Nesta being our Captain.
I think NDS will trade Arnaud by the end of the season. I dont see them stripping captaincy from him so that's the only way NDS will force Marsch not to use him anymore lol.
Btw what players are going to be FAs by the end of the season?

Marsch said yesterday that Nesta will not be starting. He hasnt decided yet if he's going to be on the bench either. I dont expect him to play unless we're leading by 1 goal in the last 10 minutes.

Don't buy that at all. Arnaud is the heart and soul of this team and should be here for a while.

I understand your point of view, but on the other hand i think NDS couldnt do a worse move to break the team spirit... Like it or not Arnaud is the best leader on the team... He isnt a bad player if he deal him for sure after the end of the.season.
Arnaud is seriously under appreciated around here. I don't think he even played his natural position a single time since the beginning of the season so cut him some loose... Might be overpaid for what he brings but he was happy to come in Montreal, an expansion team.

I know, right? I'm sure he'll be the weakest link when we're competitive, but the Marsch, Arnaud and Mapp hating is getting to a retarded level.
Looking to the latest trades & knowing he has a terrible year for the high expectations towards him: maybe we could have him for a high, but decent price.
Probably most of the MLS clubs would want to get him & we can expect overpayment...
Just for the fun of it (& because we are on HFboards! ), I would try this wishful offer.
Dallas would probably want better/younger assets, but who knows, right?
* Brek is only 22.
* If his developpement progress as it was expected: the club may have an option to sell him to get $$$.
* He counts as a Domestic player (US).
* He doesn't count as a DP.
* The Impact need talented & dynamic younger wingers with great cardio than can play 90 minutes if needed. He is one, not Justin Mapp or Lamar Neagle.
-:
* Has a cap salary of 310k so you need to give/trade to another team an high salary player (Justin Mapp is 210k?).
* Has an underperformed season so far & maybe the hype is to big vs. the real deal? Or maybe this year there's more players to cover him & a new environment would give him a boost? Want to gamble?
* He's an american international & like most american players are hesitant to come play in Canada. (so probably I'm losing my time for nothing: even though I'm losing it anyway just by writing/reading on HFboards! lol)
ps:
To all of you that thinks that MLS draft is worth alot: it's not like other N-A sports (NHL, NFL or NBA), the pool of players in football/soccer is world wide & humongous! Almost all drafted kids are from US college = if your team selects after the 3rd-4th player it's probably a lower than average player/MLS sub player/reserve team. The only good thing about it, is that in MLS, you need to fill most of your club with US/Canadian citizen (green card) players.
The MLS has a rule that limits the number of Foreign Players able to sign in this league. Every season, each team are awarded with the same # of Foreign player slot in the roster that they can use or trade (2012: 152 FP divided between the 19 teams = 8 FP/club).
So basically, the Draft is to get the best non-professional US/Canadian player available (that isn't in a club's Academy) to respect the US/CA quota. With the energy, money & clubs & league dedication to build strong Academies: MLS draft isn't the future... It's just an extra & long-shot to get decent reserve players or better if your lucky as hell/high pick!
Football/soccer is a world business with a global market to aquire & trade players. That's why trading a MLS draft picks when you expect to make the play-offs isn't that bad! Still, great/good American/Canadian players available & wants to come play in the MLS is a rare commodity. If it's an american international (USMNT), he has to pass trough a draft (last season worst team/expansion team pick 1st or skip & keep it's option for the next US player IF another one come to the MLS through the year!) That's why the Impact took Eddie Johnson even though he did want to come play in Canada. They didn't knew if another US player was coming, so they they traded him to get something instead of waiting & maybe wasting their option as first to select.
I doubt that we will get a high ranked draft pick in 2014.
Joey Saputo wouldn't allow it!
(If this imaginary-unprobable offer would come to life with NDS reading this post: Dallas would ask for the 2013 draft pick!)
S*it, looks like I really lost some time to write this crappy post! Ah well! lool
I was just thinking about Shea and his troubles in Dallas. Everyone is saying the coach is terrible but the truth is most soccer players are primadonnas that can't take a little criticism, etc.
As for a trade, maybe Arnaud++ who is a Texan himself...

I don't think Dallas will mismanage him though.
Your probably right that he's a primadonna. Seems like he doesn't like to train with the team...
When you got guys like Nesta, Di vaio, Ferrari, Rivas & Arnaud in your club = you calm down & work like others...
Maybe that's what he needs: a good kick in the ego!
Brek would be a great idea... He played Left Back, then left mid, now left wing. Hes like the american Garreth Bale. He would fit in well our 3-5-2 and is good friends with Zarek. + He could be a healthy scratch tonight, hes having a rough patch
& Yes the MLS Draft is important IF YOU PICK THE RIGHT PLAYERS. Ex. Chris Pontius

Not saying it's a waste of time: just that it will lose more & more importance in the future with Academies... The best part about it is Generation Adidas players that doesn't count on the salary cap. It's an extra (much of it is a long shot!), not an necessity.
Impact should be all over Brek Shea, this guy was created to play 4-2-3-1 ! Like someone said, he played left back left mid and winger, he got the stamina to have a great defense and offense work ratio.
On a side note, i still can't belive Nesta will play for the Impact, had you told me that 3 years ago... hahaha
I hope Nesta will be on the bench, take a goal lead and slap him in there. Shut down Brian Ching .who is going to want to score so badly, and be like "Boy, sit the hell down, you aint a super star"
Something tells me he wont play though, mainly because of the heat & awfully humid temperature down there
Read this on another Houston Dynamo Forum:

this is shaping up to be an interesting weekend as Brahma pointed out. This match only-we win and we have a decent shot at winning the East and have to be thrown in the SS discussion. We lose and Montreal is all of sudden in a very realistic spot for a playoff position. Tie-well, that's boring.

When you put it that way your right, Whitecaps did get better...
I assume we'll be seeing alot of Mattocks and Salgado at striker ?
Yes mattocks is going to be a staple on the left/mid side, with miller up front, and richards on the wing. Salgado is a 70 min sub for now, with harris.
Something I noticed live; Dennis Iapichino's confidence & composure. Hes so calm, even when its against faster wingers + he does great one touch passes
