I like Getzlaf and wouldn't mind if they made a run at him in the off season, but, for what you'll have to pay him, it might not be "cost feasible". At any rate, he'll most probably re-up with Anaheim. We do, however need to get bigger at center if we're going to go anywhere and we DEFINITELY need to start winning some friggin' face-offs!!!!

I'm not sure who to target, but we need a go-to FO man on this team and fast!

If Marc Bergevin can have $15 mil off the Salary Cap by simply buying out or trading Kaberle.He should seriously consider signing both Corey Perry as a UFA this summer, along with College Free Agent Dan DeKeyser and the Habs would be adding two more great core players to an already competitive Habs team.Also freeing up a couple of NHLers from the Habs organization to try and move up in this years draft and pick one of the Top Ten players that might be the last piece they need for a run at the SC next season.

I think we should definitely look at and make offers on Perry and Getzlaf if they go UFA, however, it has to be within reason. If we offer one 5 years and 10 mil it will just turn into a Lecavalier type albatross. Overpay yes but there has to be a limit.

really? that`s crosby money....and with the cap going down significantly i figured player values would drop significantly too.

i was thinking 7 at the most...had getzlaf slotted in on cap geek.com at 6.8 million

We are still missing something....mainly on D and the LW. We also need to win more faceoffs and it showed vs Boston. We ran out of gas. I like ur team much more then last year but it needs a few tweek. I wan't make any proposal since most are sensative after a lost.

The only problem I have with Getzlaf is he doesn't score enough. If he wants that kind of money, he needs to score 20 goals minimum to go along all those assist. 11 goals is to Gomezish for me at 7++ millions.

If you want to sign top UFA's you have to overpay a bit. I would have no problem paying a 7.5-8 mil cap hit to Perry or Getzlaf. Front loaded so if they decline they are easier to trade the last 2-3 years. I'm sure we could add an 8 mil cap hit this summer with only moving 1 player(Kaberle at 4.25 mil).

I agree on faceoffs, we have been hot and cold all year, they need extra faceoff time.

On defense the answer is(eventually) Tinordi. We need a big LH bruiser back there. Emelin is big and hits like a truck, Gorges battles and uses his body well, Subban plays pretty big. Bouillon as much as he tries, strugglers against bigger bodies, don't get me wrong though he has been a VERY solid addition, but thinking long term here.

Nice to have big guys with both Markov(to protect his body) and Diaz.
