not enough given.. Collberg and Tinordi havent proven anything yet and a 2nd
isnt good enough..
Subban or Plekanec would have to be in the trade if Ducks would trade Ryan to us.
no doubt about it..

I really like that line-up, it keeps intact what worked last year, Gionta has traditionally scored most of his goals assisted by Gomez, and Bourque in this case is a better winger than Cammalleri, if he can use his size to his advantage. The checking line is the best the Habs have put together since Carbo and Gainey days, that is a tough line to play head to head, Plekanec on a 3rd line spreads out the scoring. Substitute White for Nokelainen when the big, bad Bruins come up in games 3 and 4, and it's on! If Bourque struggles, Galchenyuk, Geoffrion, and Palushaj are all options. Or Leblanc could slide in with DD and Cole, and Pacman could reunite with the Habs best line for a good part of 2010-2011 with Gomer and Gionta. Gomez struggles, Plekanec can move up, Armstrong is a good option for the checking line. Anyways there is a lot of versatility with this line- up. I think we can expect one of Kaberle or Weber to be moved. If it is Kaberle, I think he is a cap floor giveaway, if it is Weber, maybe we could leverage a more physical defenseman like Alexander Urbom from the Devils, who could play in Hamilton, and develop into a bottom pairing d-man for next season. Gives more room for Tinordi to progress with some looks under any injury circumstances. I think St. Denis could be a reliable call up too. Weber could be a good PP option for his former coach in NJ.

Why would we trade Gally for Couturier (checking centre)?? We need to quit seeing these stupid trades for french names. Talbot is a third liner and you think he is 2nd line. Give it up already.

Signing Shane Doan to a contract would be a priority for any team with playoff aspirations IMO.He would be a catalyst for scoring on the PP as well as ESG's and another great PK player. With his leadership and workout ethic would be an absolute plus for the Habs future forwards. He has no downside which all GM's should be aware of other than age, which hasn't been a factor at all. With him coming as a UFA the Habs gain a player of Mark Messier type play without losing any compensation, this should be a main focus then get Subban signed.PK Subban would wait patiently if he knows the Habs might be able to sign Doan I'm sure.Another RFA is NYI'ers Matt Martin 23 yrs. LW 6'3 and 210lbs hitting machine for an offer sheet or trade say Kaberle/Lefebvre or Weber&Palushaj.White with RW Prust and LW Martin would make a formidable 4th line and have Blunden & Nokelainen to R&R for them when necessary.

Proposal trade Mtl-Bos

This would probably never happen, but what if?

To Boston P.K. Subban & T. Plekanec
To Montreal M Lucic & P. Bergeron

I think this would benefit both clubs

Interesting but that's two faces of the franchise from Boston. They aren't interested. It's even too much I'd say. Still wouldn't do it but it's quite the price.

neither team makes this deal. lucic and bergeron are part of the bruins heart and soul. deal would leave habs short 2 top 4 Ds.

but tell us how it benefits both clubs?

Does nothing for Boston. Plekanec is a weak link in this one, he doesn't do one thing better than Bergeron, maybe marginally better on the PP but Bergeron is better at everything else. Subban would be interesting for Boston but not at the expense of Lucic while going downwards from Bergeron to Plekanec. It also leaves a serious hole on defense for the Habs.

I wouldn't do it because we have some good pwf in Patch and Cole and possibly Bourque if he bounces back so our interest in Lucic isn't as high as it was before last season. also our D would be weak without Subban unless Markov plays like he did before his injuries so it would be taking a big risk. at least its an intelligent proposal not like the ones we,d find elsewhere in the forums

It would be more even if you switch Bergeron with Krejci I suppose. But then I don't like the trade anymore.

For the defense of Boston PK would really be a plus, with Chara not getting younger it would prepare the table for years coming, as for Plekenec he his a hard player who comes at the ice every night and is a very good passer for the wigners of the Bruins on a first or second line it would be beneficial. For Lucic in MTL it would bring a physical wigner who the habs are in need and Bergeron he too is a guy that comes playing every night and he is from here and we need guys that comes from here and speaks the language.

The Bruins already have Hamilton coming up so Subban would be nice but not as important to them as Lucic. Trading the current Selke winner for another two way center who's a step below makes no sense. Also, the Canadiens are thin on NHL ready defensemen. Especially minute eaters. It makes no sense to trade away PK.

As much as I hate the Bruins, this trade is bad for them. And it really doesn't help either team.

Montreal gets the cheapest player in the NHL along with the only Bruin I respect for a generational skater and one of the better 2-way centremen? No thank you. Even if the talent is there, Montreal loses class tremendously, and that says a lot with Bergeron there.

When pigs fly that's my opinion of this trade Bergeron is a great player with concussion problems and Lucic is a slow skater and should be one of the most penalized players in the NHL.Lucic's size being his best asset with his antagonizing element probably his bully asset.Neither player is worth the Habs interest at that price, thank you but no thank you.

If anything, that deal hurts both teams, rather than benefiting them.

Don't want Bergeron, his comment on the Chara vs Pacioretty hit that it could have happened anywhere else disgusted me enough to lose all respect for him. Jones on Bergeron could have happened anywhere else as well. Too much hypocrisy.

Maybe hurting the other team is what benefits each team.

Gallagher is probably the closest Prospect
to make the team next year followed by our future
star forward from last years draft Galchenyuk.
If they both show extreme domination in preseason
and they both are ready to make the team.
Where will Bergevin put them?
I hope he wont keep Gionta and Bourque instead
of making them play.
Either way both of those players have to play
on the 2 first lines and have over 15 minutes ice time minimum.
does anybody think trading Bourque and Gionta would be
the ideal thing to do for next year?

it would benefit Bruins but it would be horrible for Habs...
Subban's value in your trade is extremely underrated.
Subban is easily worth way more then both of those 2 players.
Montreal would never do that.
Subban is a pillar defencemen.
