Henrik Zetterberg

Not saying he'll be traded, but I would like to know how much value he has to your team. Discuss.

He's the captain now that Lidstrom is a scout. It'd have to make Hollands jaw drop from overpayment

Staal/Del Zotto + Dubinsky + 1st for Zetterberg. Staal is in his mid-twenties, on a great deal. Dubinsky is a solid 2-way forward good for 20+24 (on a normal year) + 1st, everybody knows it's a deep draft. And Zetterberg ain't getting younger so yeah...

I'd rather keep the pick tbh. Maybe: Dubinsky + Staal/MDZ + Thomas + another prospect for Zetterberg?

I'd rather have McDonagh + Dubinski, but it is an enticing package nontheless.

Yeah... sorry McDonagh is not getting moved. Especially for an aging star (sorry if I'm being blunt). Zetterberg is a great player and I offered a really good package IMO, especially when you take needs into consideration. You need some top d-men I offered either MDZ or Staal.

McDonagh is so young and still on his ELC. After the season he just put up I really doubt the Rangers would consider trading him unless he was packaged for someone like Malkin/Stamkos (which will never happen).

Understandable from Wings perspective, but I don't think Rangers are moving McDonagh.

Not trying be rude here, but ''value of a player'' isn't a synonym of ''he's going to be traded''.

There was a pretty credible rumor that Zets said it was him or Babcock at the end of the season. That probably has a lot to do with signing an Associate Coach (to deal with the players) rather than an assistant coach.

That said he is not going anywhere.

Zetterberg isn't a player you'd gut your team to get but obviously a lot of teams would love to get him.

Staal was traded for 8th overall and Sutter and I'd pay the same amount or an equivalent amount for Zetterberg. I like Zetterberg more than Staal but Staal is younger.

Datsyuk and maybe a pick, since Zetterberg is younger.

There are very few players in this league who are worth trading Zetterberg for. He is a player that can single handedly win you games. Big packages wouldn't be worth it unless you are getting the scoring, defense and leadership that he possesses in return. He not only brings immense talent and work ethic but he flat out sells tickets.

Players I would want in return for Zetterberg are guys like Perry, Eriksson, Kane(s), Getzlaf, etc. Basically I would not move Zetterberg for a package that doesn't include a superstar. Straight up or in a package for another superstar that is younger and has leadership potential.

Why? If we have Zetterberg either Kesler or Zetterberg will be on the 3rd line. Not to mention we need to get younger.

26 year old + 1st in a strong draft for Zetterberg does not accomplish that.

Not that I'm bashing Zetterberg or anything, just the Canucks don't need him.

This is a fair offer

I still don't think Holland does it, Z is the captain really already. Not really how the Wings operate. How long is Staal signed? Not looking forward to the draft day when he is going to Carolina year, especially because Ilitch and Karmanos would probably have a duel over it somewhere in the Detroit area if they are both still alive. Yes they have done some minor deals since but cannot see the Wings sending a big player to Carolina ever.

Detroit is going to see all he has accomplished, and buyers will see age and perceived decline. I have a very hard time seeing the two sides, regardless of the suitor, agreeing on a price for this player.

Detroit values him as any team would a Conn Smythe-winning superstar. Many (and possibly all) other clubs would balk at the price. All clubs would value Zetterberg, but likely not enough to pry away the assets necessary to get it done. The gap is too wide to bridge right now.

He's a great player, but I don't think there's any way the Blues would ever take on that contract. It pays $7-8 million real money for 6 more years (through his age 37 season). That's just not going to happen.

Not that there's any chance that Detroit is going to move him, either.
