So Pyscho-Pass ended.. Thought the last episode was a bit underwhelming. Wasn't bad, guess maybe I thought more would go down.

so I'm watching psycho pass and quite enjoying it. only problem is it reminds me of an anime I can't remember... could be just deja vu but I'm not thinking it is. it could actually be two different anime so...
the characteristics that are familiar are:
the atmosphere-dark grittyish forlorn but not particularly guesome or depressing
the characters- I can't quite remember this but I recall the main character being similarly quiet/muted and there being some sort of partnership
the serialness- I believe it was mostly serial with episodes that had individual plot that led up to something (okay quite common in anime)
revolutionaries or something- might have dreamt this but I recall a similar digital chatroom style or something where characters meet and there was some sort of plotting
utopian society- the kind that always feels empty
conspiracy- possibly with the people they are working with

things that come close:
Sword art online
Pandora Hearts
.hack// (couldn't tell you which one)
some story archs in Gintama
Durarara (only saw a few episodes so it might change)
Sherlock
Firefly
Full Metal Panic
Persona 4

things that it isn't quite like despite having similarities
Fairy Tail(on occasion)
Bleach
Trigun
Cowboy Bebop
Eureka 7
Deadman Wonderland
Full Metal Panic Fumoffu
Death Note
Code Geass
Soul Eater
Code Lyoko
Kingdom Hearts
Disgaea(whole series)
Final Fantasy 13
Star Wars Bounty Hunter
Mass Effect (the atmosphere of the Citadel)

Things that aren't similar at all
Doctor Who
Teen Titans
Naruto
One Piece
Elementary
anything happy
Steins; Gate
Eden of the East
FLCL
Final Fantasy 7 + the rest that I have seen/played
Legend of zelda games
Fallout Games
Ghost in the Shell (from the episode and a half that I have seen)

I might have just confused you with the lists :\

Welp. Time for the resurrection. Spring Season started and I guess I'll give my initial impressions as I start watching. Just to keep this alive!

Will update the OP soon enough.

But first things first.

Oreimo Season 2. Probably the most anticipated show of the season because let's be honest the girls are cute.

First episode started slow with Kirino back from the USA which was detailed in the true end of the first season. Not much happening honestly, new OP song is catchy as can be expected from ClariS. Artwork is adorable as always. Also, yay! Kuroneko! That is all.

We'll see where the story goes this season.

Shingeki no Kyojin - I'm familiar with the manga and predicting this one's going to be bad ass.

Just watched the first episode of Hataraku Maou-sama! and I think it's a keeper. Very funny show, I don't think I've ever seen a character so excited to get hired to a full time worker at MgRonalds (Anime shows favorite habit is to change up McDonalds restaurant name to avoid lawsuits), and the fact that he was a former Demon Lord makes it very entertaining.

Going to watch it probly tomorrow after I get off work. Also watched the first episode of Devil Survivor 2, definitely based off an Atlus game alright. Could be good, never played the game though.

I've read what there was in English for Date A Live and I still want to kill his sister. Some people like her, but honestly, think of the whole idea that everything and everyone, including your own sister was a ****ing lie. If anything, the main character needs to grow a pair of balls to stand up to his sister.

Samurai Bride had an interesting first episode.

Oreimo S2 first episode was slow, but I liked it.

I've been reading Photokano, but haven't watched it yet.

I really liked the first episode of Suisei no Gargantia. I'm going to keep up with that. Mainly because it's essentially "main character in unknown land/alternative universe" sort of stuff, and I like that (like Zero no Tsukaima).

Shingeki no Kyojin was awesome. Definitely going to keep this one.

Suisei no Gargantia was good too. First episode I was kinda meh on it because it threw so many things at you but the last half definitely has me interested to see more.

Basically how I felt. I think they knew you didn't give a **** and you didn't have to give a **** about the first half stuff.

Not a bad season as far as me watching weekly.

Shingeki no Kyojin
Suisei no Gargantia
Kakumeiki Valvrave
Devil Survivor 2

Might start Hataraku Maou-sama! and Karneval. And possibly Majestic Prince

The same person who did Psycho-Pass is doing Suisei no Gargantia now. It's pretty awesome.

Hopefully SnG has a better ending.

Valvrave is a mecha produced by Sunrise and written by the same guy who wrote Code Geass so yeah, got a feeling this one should take some good turns.

Only issue with Gargantia was that the mecha in the first episode sucked, so it's in trouble if that becomes the major set piece later on. Just seemed like a really bad version of Macross.

Also, Railgun's a prequel right? I don't seem to have the Raildex universe in my memory anymore.

They didn't set up the beginning mecha stuff that much probably because it would take a back seat to what is going on now or throughout most of the series.

Ending to the last Attack on Titan episode was great. Can't wait for the next episode.

Also finally in the Chimera arc in Hunter x Hunter.

God this show is too good. I might have to read the manga. One episode a week is just too long of a wait.

I'd suggest waiting another week or two, let the current events wrap up first.

So I watched NGE again last night, and realized what an overrated piece of crap that was. Bored to sleep.

Bump

Anyway, here are my thoughts on some of the new stuff about 10 episodes in.

Shingeki no Kyojin - deserving of the hype!

Valvrave the Liberator - pretty crappy so far....I'll probably drop this one if things don't pick up soon.

Suisei no Gargantia - the job business dragged on a bit but it's getting interesting again.
