Gonna be hard to beat that for KO of the night.

Dos Anjos has made Njokuani look very bad tonight.

Very entertaining fight between Beltran and Te-Huna. Wasn't sloppy, worth checking out later if anyone missed it.

Very impressive performance by Weidman. He may be able to do what Chael couldn't against Anderson. Impressive wrestling but his BJJ is also top notch and he has the power to finish.

And what the **** was Rosenthal doing? This fight should've been stopped about 5 unanswered punches earlier.

Outstanding performance from Weidman. He completely ragdolled Munoz.

Unusually horrendous stoppage from Rosenthal. He's one of the best referees but he messed that up badly.

What the **** was the ref thinking? That was brutal to watch.

What a perfectly timed elbow, though.

edit: I don't even think Munoz landed a shot.

If someone was looking for a train to latch onto for hopes they'd beat Silva, that train just ran over Mark Munoz.

Weidman is a bad matchup for Silva. I don't think Anderson will be keen on fighting a relative unknown who has a good chance at defeating him.

I don't think he would either. Weidman will have to face and beat Vitor first to get that fight I'm guessing. Unfortunately this fight was on Fuel TV so it's hard to sell as well.

Oh, I'm sure he'd rather fight someone like Bisping or Stann as opposed to a strong wrestler that also practices BJJ and finishes fights. The way I see it though, when you're the champ you should be willing to take on any and all comers, otherwise you may as well just relinquish the belt.

I do agree though that the UFC will likely want Weidman to get one more big win against a big name opponent before they throw him into a title shot.

If Lombard destroys Boetsch I think we're most likely to see Lombard get the next title shot, although it really depends on when Anderson is expected to fight next.

Awful late stoppage by the ref there. Weidman is the real deal.

I don't know why people are so keen on Lombard getting a title shot. He hasn't defeated a top middleweight in his entire career. Beating up cans in Bellator holds too much weight for hardcore MMA fans.

I'm not, but I get the feeling the UFC is really going to want to push him and given his age, now is the time if he can have an impressive debut. And like I said, depends a lot on when Anderson is going to fight next and whether or not the want to push Weidman into a title fight. If Lombard is impressive against Boetsch he may just be used as "filler" until a real #1 contender presents itself. I hope not, but I just get that feeling.

That makes sense from Lombards side but why is the UFC so eager to do it? No one knows who Hector Lombard is.

He's got selling points the casual fans will eat up with a tonne of finishes and a 23 or so unbeaten streak. If he has an impressive finish against Boetsch they can trumpet that too. Heck, Dana White is already saying Lombard could be the #1 contender should he simply win.

But like I said, it all really depends on when Anderson fights next. If it's sooner than later, then other than a fairly inexperienced and unknown Weidman, who else is out there? Eventually someone out of Bisping, Stann or Belcher may cement themselves as the true #1 contender, but that may not be for months or longer.

I guess it's not much different then what they did with Jake Shields and fans bought him as a legit contender.

Great showing by Weidman. Pretty much how I saw it going. I know I bashed Munoz a bit pre-fight but I just have never been sold on him, and Weidman is a great MW.

Andrew Craig with the other notable win. He looked terrible but showed great heart and landed that sick KO.

Man, just watched that replay again. What an elbow by Weidman. I don't know if its possible to have a more dominating performance in a #1 contenders fight than what Weidman did out there.

I haven't been sold on him either. To me, he's a middle of the pack fighter in the MW division.

Just got back from the event. It was fun...James Te Huna vs Thiago Silva needs to happen. Great performance by Weidman...Rosenthal dropped the ball big time....Mark could have been seriously hurt.
