Is it really neccesary to have a second thread now, instead of say a week before the actual game?

Hey man, I'm comin' in peace, but let me tell you why you're all dumb and wrong and over-reacting to losing your captain. Because I, as a fan of a different team, know better and know how you're supposed to react to things that happen to your team.

Oh, I don't know, guys. I feel a change of heart coming on.

Like at the end of a movie, when the scrappy kid tells the big mean adult to stop being a jerk. Every "Get over it!" melts my ice cold heart just a little bit more.

I just want to smile, pat them on the head and take back every bad word I ever said about the guy.

Not me. Every "get over it!" makes me want to be even more vicious.

Just to shoot down a few poor examples given in the last thread.

1) Daneyko and Messier knew each other from when they were little kids growing up in Alberta.
2) Crosby and Parise both went to SSM, and IIRC Crosby even used to stay at the Parise's home in Minnesota.

Now back on topic, how exactly are Parise and Suter, who didn't grow up together and never played together on any team other than on a few national tournament squads that totaled about a mere 20 games spread out over plenty of years, such "besties"? It's horsecrap.

I get it that they can be acquaintances etc...., but this story is being sold in the media like they've been best friends for 15 years and/or knew each other in the crib.

Has nobody else thought about this or questioned it?

That's more than enough incentive to gain my support for this topic. That is always fun to watch.
