No crazy trades, just small tweaks. Clowe and/or Murray can be traded midseason if the team needs more speed.
Switch Doan and Mueller and heck yeah! Might want a more defensive forward for the third but I think Mueller would do well here.

I wouldn't really call Sharp dynamic, but I'd do something around Pavelski for Sharp.

I like this article allot, does a good job of "explaining" him so to speak. Be nice to see him on the wing with Pavs for the right price.

The article is very good, and brings me to one of my favorite questions.

Is it more important to find the right system for the players you have, or find players that fit your system.

To me it always seems that the second you try to "reinvent" how your team plays hockey without major changes to the players it always fails. Use what you got, not what you want to have.

This is exactly why DW should be doing all he can to sign him. Either with Couture and Havlat or Thorton and Pavs he would tear it up. It's a cryin shame he won't end up in SJ. God forbid you can afford him and Marleau on the same line. That would be a ton of speed and I would expect Marleau to have a great year with the room he would get.

Great article on Semin. Sometimes I wonder if we get too attached to the "potential" in star players, and punish them for it, rather than accepting that they'll have flaws just like everybody else. Not to say it isn't frustrating as hell when you have a player that doesn't seem to give 100% effort, but, his stats do speak highly for him. It makes me wonder, if we stripped away all of the information about a player but their stats and pay, would people be happy? (something that can also apply to our own Marleau at times as well)

Sharks interested in Morrow??

http://www.nhl.com/ice/blogpost.htm?id=10547

I'd be interested if he's healthy, had a back problem last season and low numbers.

I wouldn't be adverse to giving AK a look. He is a little one dimensional though and is rumored to be looking for around 4m. He would be an ok fallback if he'd sign for cheaper than that.

I don't think he's one dimensional, he's just not great at anything. But for a guy who is still just 27, I would give him around 4 mil.

Yah I want nothing to do with either. Wolski is garbage and AK is like Alex Semin without the talent.

I don't get the hate. AK is a 3 time 20 or more goal scorer, he's actually decent defensively (unlike Semin), he's a natural RW, and as long as he's not around his brother reportedly a hard worker and a good guy in the room. I would prefer Semin, but he will probably get 6 mil or so. AK also brings a somewhat physical game (100+ hits a year). If people are ok paying a 4th liner like Burish nearly 2 mil, why not pay a legit top 6 like AK 4 mil?

Neither of the K bros. are fast. I have them somewhere around a C on speed. Both can handle the puck (dangle). If the Sharks weren't in the hole on speed, I would be more amenable to looking in their direction.

Or simply under no circumstances sign both Doan and Mueller

I think you've missed a lot of the last years stories on AK hehe. He has publically spoke out about his team and coach, basically demanded a trade, was traded, and then dropped by Nashville (and they kept his brother). Sergei has turned out to be the better Kostistyn by all accounts at this point. Not that either have great attitudes.

Also, Semin is better than AK defensively, he's actually quite good, that is not really his issue.

Stars would trade Morrow to the Sharks. Potential bad PR would be through the roof.

The only thing I would be worried about with Semin, is do the Sharks have anyone who could effectively communicate with Semin?
