Should I be AK I would never sign with Habs, I would rather go to KHL. As a mater of fact I would have asked to be traded from Habs a long time ago, for example right after jm comment about contract year for European player. (Wonder who has 5 cent brain). So he is too good of a guy and sucks is up, unlike his bro who had 93 points in 2 seasons outside of Montreal (only 2 players on Habs roster had more points in last 2 seasons combined). There is a reason why most of french Canadian players won't touch Montreal with 30 feet long stick, reading topics about AK I can clearly understand why

1-2 year deal at 3-3.25 mill per.

New management and new coaching may be a new beginning for AK46.

Play him on the second with pleky and Gionta or worse case juggle him between second and third with Eller. He seemed to play well with both centers.

Give him a short term contract prove to us you matured and then collect your payday.

Desharnais has the big bodies in Max Pac and Cole
Pleky and Gionta need a big body on the 2nd.
A. Kost can do that.

I'd still prefer Doan as he's my first choice but I wouldn't mind A. Kost.
Fully agree to all except I wouldn't pay 7.5/4 years as rumoured for Doan.

He wouldn't sign in the KHL before exhausting his NHL options.

Yeah, definitely too good of a guy, he gets traded to a cup contender and gets suspended by his new team in the middle of a tough series. Too good of a guy, the kind of guy you really want in a 'team' setting.

Andrei will be consolation plan!

I think Andrei Kostitsyn will be plan C for a lot of teams...he's got the talent, the shape and with a low salary, he can be in the top 6 foward of many teams.

But it will be less than 3 millions he's got last year and he prefer to play in NHL.

Consolation to Doan or Semin, I suppose. For less than he got last year, he would be a pretty reasonable consolation.

I'd take him back too, except we just don't have the roster space now. I could see them waive some vet for Doan, not for AK. There would need to be a trade with multiple spare parts for this to happen.

A. Kostitsyn can play center, could be an interesting fit as the Blues third line center.

I don't see why he would take less money unless he had no choice. If anything, having Doan, Semin, etc. off the market would increase his value, which might have his agent asking for a slight raise like Semin got.

Poile was asked outright if they would consider bringing AK back, and the answer was an emphatic "no."

Said that he didn't fit the "culture" of the Predators, and the felt like he had a negative effect on Sergei, as well.

That's funny because it was "common knowledge" around here that Sergei had a bad influence on Andrei, now we are hearing the contrary.... some brothers just aren't meant to play together I guess.

Well then you can probably scratch Pittsburgh off the list of possible teams for AK.

Shero was in Nashville for 7-8 years as an assistant GM under Poile, I assume he wants to continue the same culture that was in Nashville, in Pittsburgh.

Don't worry about it, Sergei won't be coming to Pittsburgh with him.

Shero needs to do his own thing and give AK a shot on Sid's wing.

Watch

Do not overlook the Canes. They can come in and offer him a low-risk $3-3.5 mil/ 1 year with an opportunity to play on a line with Staal and Semin AND an offensive system. Muller knows Kostitsyn very well and Andrei's progression was there with Muller babying him.

Just look at what the Canes' three first lines would look like...scary.

I would take him back in MTL with the entire new management, but I think that the Habs would have a tough sell to make...too bad.
