Anyway, Swimming is usually quite entertaining to watch, so I'll probably watch it.
I had the 800 on there and tipped Muffat. They've never had 1500 for women at the Olympics.

Friis may be in the hunt..... tough to say in the minor medals. There will be several girls who will put their hands up but I think the top 2 are above the rest right now. I certainly think Adlington is the favorite, but from what I've seen of her in person last year I just think Muffat is ready to explode here. The splitting she was doing at some of those Mare Nostrum meets the past month or two is just extraordinary.

That's why it will be fun though - we don't know for sure. Pressure does funny things to people at a meet such as this.

My wife read in the Korean media that they appealed and it looks like he will be in still. Can't believe it though. My wife sometimes makes funny jokes.

The Canadian, Cochrane, will make way. The Canadians should absolutely appeal.

I don't see how Canada would win an appeal. Guy would be 9th if DSQ didn't happen and not in the Final, if the DSQ decision is wrong, it's just bad luck for the Canadian swimmer

It was never a false start though.

Much worse to keep him out, but hardly at the level of "scandal" either way.

How much of a disadvantage is it to swim in the Lane 8? Is the backwash worse than in the middle of the pool? Or is it just not being able to see your competition as well?

The pools are built to minimize the back wash so all lanes should be almost equal in that but it still does have a little impact. I think it's more mental than anything but they said that the roof of the building makes it hard for the end lanes to not run into the lane lines on backstroke.

She's only 16 years old, too. Remarkable. What a dominant freestyle leg.

Exciting race in the women's 4x100. Great last leg from the Netherlands to get silver.

Australia wins the womens 4x100 free relay. Netherlands comes out of nowhere for silver and US gets bronze
