Pick your preseason lineup

Just to change gears around here a bit, what would you folks like to be your preseason line ups? Id say give 2-3 lineups, two spread out, and one partially consolidated. The predictions should be interesting.

Post em' up...

I just threw up in my mouth, that is an awful lineup. Seriously, this lineup is far worse than last years squad. Overrated shero better have some tricks up his sleeves because right now we would be fortunate to even get knocked out of the first round of the playoffs.

Just to make things easier, I'm going to assume that we aren't going to bring in anybody else through FA or trade. If that happens, then that obviously changes my lineups.

Lineup #1: This is what I think the lineup will be on opening night after preseason is done.

Kunitz - Crosby - Dupuis
Tangradi - Malkin - Neal
Cooke - Sutter - Kennedy
Glass - Jeffrey - Vitale
Adams

Martin - Letang
Orpik - Niskanen
Strait - Bortuzzo
Engelland (I think it's more of a platoon situation with him also. He'll get more than enough time in the lineup during the season.)

Lineup #2: Something that I think we'll see at some point during the preseason as Bylsma is tinkering with things.

Kunitz - Crosby - Tangradi
Bennett - Malkin - Neal
Cooke - Sutter - Dupuis
Glass - Jeffrey - Vitale

Despres - Letang
Martin - Niskanen
Morrow - Orpik

Lineup #3: This lineup is the one that will get the most people up in arms

Kunitz - Crosby - Neal
Tangradi - Malkin - Kennedy
Cooke - Sutter - Dupuis
Glass - Vitale - Adams

Orpik - Letang
Martin - Niskanen
Despres - Bortuzzo

Whenever Tangradi gets his pre-season Top 6 shots, I hope it's with Crosby and not Malkin, since his game meshes much better with Sid's (scoring off the cycle) than it does Geno's (scoring off the rush), since that's the strength of his game.

You guys should realize that some lesser known guys will get a game or two, as well. Geoff Walker and Bryan Lerg did last year on AHL contracts

You should see Zach Sill, Keven Veilleux, Trevor Smith, Warren Peters, Riley Holzapfel, Philippe Dupuis, Dylan Reese and prospects like Tom Kuhnhackl, Matia Marcantuoni, Dominik Uher as well

All I know is Despres, Morrow and Dumoulin will all get significant ice time in pre-season if I had to guess.

Does anyone think they give Morrow the Despres-treatment in that they know they won't be starting him in the NHL so they send him down earlier to get acclimated and to give everyone else vying for a spot more playing time? I wouldn't be too surprised.

I don't think Morrow and Dumoulin have any shot at making the team, short of an incredible camp and pre-season where they are dominant, only that the team will give them a taste of NHL games to whet their appetite. They're playing in WBS all year, barring a bunch of simultaneous D injuries.

Long term, I agree. Short term, Kunitz is the better player and Sid needs him. He'd have a smaller, more specific role as the third wheel on Geno and Neal's line. Dupuis can't be the better of Sid's wingers. Only way Tangradi is on Sid's line barring more signings is if he is head and shoulders better at camp than we've ever seen him.

Do you think if we gave Minnesota a Lifetime Pizza Hut voucher and 15% off all purchases from the Penguins On-Line Shop that they would give us Parise? Worth a shot. Throw in a second hand Kawasaki Ninja and they might go for it.

Make it Mineo's Pizza and he's ours!

But do we have to pronounce his name Paris-E rather than Paris-A like he asked at the conference in Minnesota yesterday?
