Added the rest of the Jets prospects to the poll, with the exception of Daultan Leveille. Considering he's not being invited to the prospect camp, it's probably safe to assume that he's not in their future plans.

Voted Yuen.

It's interesting to see how far Gregoire has fallen. I guess he really needs a good season next year to maintain any chance of being part of the Jets in the future.

Went with Serville. He's the best left.

Surprised how Gregoire has been forgotten. I bet if this poll was done next week he'd come in at around eight or nine because he'll probably dominate prospects camp.

Shiny bauble syndrome. I haz it too. Strangely enough, I did think about voting for him. The lack of exposure he had last year due to injuries didn't help his cause, I think.

Gregoire was way way way overrated last year (he came in at FOUR in this poll). He doesn't have great anything, just kinda jack of all trades but not really great at it, not sure where he fits into a team in the NHL. Was never a fan of him myself.

People were also very attached to new prospects last year and basically had little to no idea about the Thrashers system, somehow Leveille managed to be ranked despite it being well known even then that he would not be signed this summer, he was already a busted 1st round pick. Just 13 months ago when TNSE bought this team, the prospect pool was completely devoid of talent, guys struggling to stay on AHL roster were 8-15 prospects (Esposito, Aliu). Now guys that are already borderline NHLers (Maxwell, Maceneauer) are struggling to crack the top 20. That's a lot of improvement in a short amount of time.

Yuen again, easy pick. Yuen has nice upside and is a fair bit safer than any other remaining prospect (with the exception of the aforementioned Maxwell and Maceneauer who I don't think will be full time NHLers)

I tend to look at prospects and see how they project. Younger guys tend to project better. For instance Yuen right now to me projects as a solid number 4 guy at some point in the future. A Paul Martin type defender. A guy like Maxwell though probably won't be a top 6 guy in the NHL so he projects lower then Yuen and thus would be ranked lower.

Serville is pretty criminally underrated around here and probably because we don't hear or see much of him plus people will judge players purely by stats. Jon Merrill a highly touted 1st rounder only had 11 points for Michigan last year and was a year older then Serville. I am betting Serville pops up on some peoples radars this upcoming season because his numbers will improve greatly.

Yeah, we don't really hear a lot about Serville. With both he and Trouba in Michigan, I'm thinking we might get some more reports out of there this year.

We really need to find some wolverine fans on this site to give us some updates next year.

I hope Serville and Trouba become defense partners next year. It would be like when the Ducks had Schultz and Gardiner playing together at Wisconsin.

Our very own DanielBryanRoleModel is a current Michigan student, I believe. He needs to head on down to Yost Ice Arena and give us some periodic reports on Trouba and Serville next season.

Cause if not...

Except we want it to turn out better for us right?

It would be great to get reports from someone. Was he the one who was talking about DiGusippe (sp)?

Very very few guys who play in juniors as over agers end up being NHLers. He will not and should not crack our top 20 right now, IMO.

I like to mix that up a little. It's got to be a combination, IMO, kinda like how hockey's future tries to do with their numbers and letter grades.

Serville is in the next tier of prospects, IMO. After Yuen gets this, we have the 14 top guys, and I see this is a significant point of dropoff for now. Maybe Serville makes progress, but right now he is in the 15-21 mix with Maxwell, O'Neill, Melchiori, O'Dell, Maceneaur grouping, IMO. Serville has the most upside of any of those players, but is also the most raw and furthest away of that grouping. I would put him 16.

just watched Yuen at the prospects camp today and he has very nice skating and stick skills. They did some basic drills for D men in their own zone at the end of the practice and he might have been the most fluid looking (with Trouba of coarse). He had really nice movement in all directions while controlling the puck.
