Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've always understood that the team gets all of the profits if you buy it from the team store, but the profits are split thirty ways if you buy it from anywhere else. While I would love an orange Flyers jersey and a red Habs jersey, I don't plan on buying them this year, unless the Nordiques come back (a blue Nordiques jersey would be at the top of the list too). At this point, I'm unwilling to give any money to the Phoenix Coyotes, so all of my jersey purchases as of right now will be QMJHL jerseys.
As for now, my jersey want list is topped off by Val-d'Or's green jersey, Shawinigans yellows, and Chicoutimi's blues. If the Olympiques come out with an alternate jersey, that is the most important one Nordiques or not.
I never understood this as a sports fan. In all sports, not just hockey.
What if Yakupov is a total bust? What if he ends up being a 40 point player? IMO it Seems a bit risky to spend $200 on a jersey for a guy who hasn't proven anything.
I've only bought jerseys of players that I know will either be awesome for a long time or have already proven they're the real deal. I want to be able to look at my jersey and know that it represents a great player who played for my favorite team.
I feel bad for all those hawks fans who I see wearing authentic Niemi jerseys.
I'd love to have a Datsyuk (favorite player) jersey but it's kind of sac religious as a Hawks fan.
