Good signing- glad to have him locked up for 3 more years and eat up some UFA time.

Overpaid a tad but that's to eat some of the UFA years. Glad to have him locked up for the next four years.

I wouldn't say it's overpaid at all, how many 60+ point top line players are going for less?

Was expecting him to sign at a 5mil hit so this is good. I dont know if Purcell will duplicate the 2nd half of last year but anything close would be great.

I was very happy to read this today!

I've been really happy with what Teddy has given us, and glad to see him rewarded with an extension.

It's the off-season and I'm bored so let's relive some of Teddy's greatest moments in a Lightning jersey:

Still remember that forecheck goal vs the Bruins I think thats just as they were talking about how Tampa doesn't apply any pressure and Teddy et al suddenly start with the two man forechecking and put it in the back of the net

Purcell's two goals in a minute against Boston is easily among my favorite Lightning moments post-cup. That game was unforgettable.

Yeah, it's my favorite post-Cup game, too! What a comeback that was...

Purcell was an absolute beast in that Boston series. How many goals did he score? Five?

Love this snipe

So glad to have Teddy locked up for the next few years.

Oddly, one of my favorite parts about him is his defensive ability. When he's moving and motivated, he has one of the best back checks on the team. Love to see him catch up with a guy, stick lift, and get the puck going the other way.

Just like everyone else is saying. Hes good now, but his ceiling is really high if he develops some consistency.

Agreed, that game was awesome. Only one that tops it for me was game 7 against Calgary in games I've attended in person.
