feaster's trying to make a better relation ship between the flames and FA college palyers, so calgary is a more attractive destination for them to sign
Frankie Vatrano: played in the USHL (USNDT) 24GP, 7-11-18, +18
Dan Bakala, local boy played with Bemidji State University. He's a goalie so his stats don't matter.
Conner Hardowa, UNH 36GP, 6-10-16, +12
(Do you sense a scouting trend here?)
I've been hearing the fan 960 guys have been gushing about Gaudreau's showing but I'm in Edmonton. Heard he's been pretty spectacular. Can anyone confirm this?

Two goals in the group game today. Didn't see the goals, so not able to confirm if they were dirty or great dekes/shots.

A good idea. I wonder what the rate of success is for College F.As?

But a goal's a goal.
I can confirm both goals were beauties.
The first goal he streaked down the wing and ripped it top shelf.
The second was on a penalty shot where he showed magic hands and slipped it five-hole. He was the most impressive player at the session I watched.
Best part of the whole experience was I got to sit down by Craig Conroy and shoot the **** about the prospects. He seems very high on Gaudreau.
Some players I focused on:
Max Reinhart- Very smart player, was always around the puck. Could have been better at face-offs but you can tell he just thinks the game at a higher level than the other prospects.
Mark Jankowski- Man is he ever lanky. He is a bean pole, but he can skate and handle the puck. Huge reach allowed him to get around a couple defenders. If he bulks up watch out, I am really confident in this pick.
Michael Ferland- Wasn't as noticeable as I was hoping, had a nice hit and he scored a goal. Skating seems to be at least average, and he has a wicked shot.
Markus Granlund- Very slick passer, showed some good drive to the net but his passing really stood out to me. Had moment where he wasn't the most visible player out there.
Patrick Sieloff- He is a good skater and hit absolutely everything. By far the most noticeable defenceman, but not necesarily in a good way. Had some trouble handling the puck and made some poor outlet passes. His physicality overshadowed his puck handling though.
Other players that positively stood out- Roman Horak, Dustin Sylvester, Sven Baertschi, Carter Bancks, Laurent Brossoit, and Eric Robinson.
Feel free to ask more specifically on players and I will try to recall as much as I can.

@ Superhakan, thanks for the write up. Great to hear, to bad I can't go at all, I'm in BC all week on vacation. I keep getting more and more pumped the more I hear about Gaudreau, you could make a case for him that he is our 2nd best prospect. How did look size wise in comparison to the other players?
Regarding Janko, he will fill out without question. He sprouted up 6 or 7 inches in just over a year so its no wonder that he's so thin. The Flames will get him on a strength program so its only a matter of time before he grows into his frame. What else can you say about Janko, he's the one I'm most curious about, I'm more specially interested in how he handled himself and if he looked out of place going up against our top prospects (ie. Sven, Max and JG). Also who was he playing with?
Anyone else think that Reinhart may force Feaster's hand and steal a spot in the fall?

So what i saw from Jankowski is that he is a good skater, he doesn't seem to be moving fast out there but he was always with the play. He made a couple good passes but his two best plays were a drive to the net where he shielded the puck from the defender and got a shot off, and the other was a play where he used his reach to essentially wrap the puck around a defender (think like a one handed forsberg shootout move where instead he taps the puck around the defender to himself on the other side) and passed it cross crease for what should have been a sure goal (the player whom I can't remember missed). Did not look out of place (which is huge because he was facing better competition than in stanstead) and was actually one of the better prospects out there.
Gaudreau still looked tiny. I remember a play where he got hit fairly decently by who I think was James Martin, but he may not have been the smallest player on the ice. Dustin Sylvester looked pretty damn close in stature. FWIW I asked Connie if Gaudreau was truly 5'8'' and he said yes, but take that with a grain of salt.
Heres a pic of Jankowski (77 in red)
One thing I did leave out is that Baertschi could have had 3+ points but missed on 2 breakaways, but he definitely was dangerous out there.
Edit: I still think Max is a year away, he looked good out there but he was hardly game changing.
